Benghazi-gate continues: CIA operators were told to 'stand down'
Washington Times ^ | October 26, 2012 | Bob Siegel

Posted on 10/27/2012 3:00:29 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

.....It’s almost unimaginable that the Obama administration could spin their way out of this one. They’ll try, but there aren’t too many cards left to play. The video narrative has ridden off into the horizon and can help them no longer.

They’ll probably dismiss Fox News as a right wing, hence unreliable source. They’d be wise not to try it. A quick trip down memory lane takes us back to September, when DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz claimed the conservative Washington Examiner misquoted her, only to discover that her words had been recorded....

Even if Debbie had not already paved the way to Fool’s Gold, Obama should remember that conservative news outlets are not alone in this ever morphing story. His allies in the main steam media cannot shield him forever. Sometimes, when evidence pours down like sharp, cold hail, conventional news outlets actually report the news. It might be a whole new experience for them, but they do it, if only by kicking and screaming......

.......If President Obama knew the truth and told Carney to lie, he has lost the right to be president. The only other explanation is that somehow these reports never got to him, possibly because he was busy campaigning. That involves a scenario where the president’s subordinates were deliberately keeping him in the dark. Anything is possible, but this strains credulity.

For some Obama supporters, the information breakdown theory may be more palatable, but the choice is then between gross negligence and downright lying. In the case of negligence, a portion of the lie remains. If we ignore logic and assume that despite cries for help,e-mails,and official intelligence reports, Obama still did not know the truth, we are left asking where the video story came from. If he didn’t know anything, did he just make it up?...........

...Facts are stubborn things.....

“There’s a broader lesson to be learned here,” Mr. Obama told “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft at the White House. “And I — you know, Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later. And as president, one of the things I’ve learned is you can’t do that. That, you know, it’s important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts. And that you’ve thought through the ramifications before you make ‘em.”

I feel sorry for the poor people of south Chicago, who are going to get ass-raped by obama and jarrett when they return to their real estate development activities after the election. There will be no stopping those bloodsuckers from taking every last penny.

If only Congress had the courage to mess up BO’s retirement - that would be poetic justice.

Too late to impeach him, but not too late to charge him with treason.

Exactly. No pension for the rest of his life. He forfeits it all cuz he’s a dirty dealer and betrayed his country. Just like lance Armstrong. Only a million times worse! And oh yeah, we hang him high right there in the mall in February.

Not possible if FOX's sources are correct:

From Greta van Susteren's interview with Ambassador John Bolton:

Greta: What we have been told is that during that time is that President Obama, VP Biden and Secretary of Defense Panetta at some time that evening or that afternoon were in the Oval Office together....

"That time" she refers to is during those hours when the consulate was being attacked. Also, Bolton's statement that in no administration that he had served would this have been handled in any other way than at the very top level.

VIDEO at link

However, it is time we start doing something here at FR. Don't know if anyone has done it already but we need a thread with as complete a time-line of the Benghazi events as possible. It should start at least the weeks before when the first attacks start and the British decide to move out. Each event shold be linked to one or several sources, including web links.

I know the usual answer when one suggests something like this; excellent idea, please, go ahead. Unfortunately I am too busy this wekend. I am writing this from work and I will probably stay here for most of Saturday and Sunday. Maybe someone has done something similar already?

I think his handlers threw out the scenario of Somalia and ‘Black Hawk Down’ and Obama & his minions turned their backs on Benghazi to avoid a possible rerun.

I don't disagree with that possibility, but it shows the politicians learning the wrong lessons from history.

In Somalia, we were supposed to be there for humanitarian reason.
But we turned the mission into a manhunt for a warlord.

In Somalia, we had access to heavy weapons, but chose not to use them, because they were politically risky.
In Somalia, men died because they were sent on a mission that was inadequately equipped and inadequately supported.

Obama may have been trying to prevent a repeat of Mogadishu, but his efforts to avoid that are pretty much exactly what led to a repeat of Mogadishu.

We wanted Libya liberated from Ghadaffy -- but then we stuck around and started a gun-running operation to jihadist terrorists. Okay, now we're on the wrong mission.
We could have sent in strong support to Benghazi, but decided not to escalate the situation, because it might have political repercussions.

Hasn't worked out for the Kenyan.

I just posted to Greta’s blog a request for a timeline - I know there are some out there. If we are going to do this, starting from scratch would be very difficult.

Collaborating on a FR timeline also presents challenges. But, it’s worth a try, imo. Why don’t you at least start a thread and see what happens?

Sounds a lot like like Benghazi

Excellent! Thanks. This is a very good start. There are new data to put in like the e-mails and FOX's revelation of the Stand-down orders.

I will have to continue my work now. If someone takes up the glove, please ping me, otherwise I will try to get at it late tonight (I'm at MGT +1).

I think there is also a broader lesson to be learned also. By us. If he is allowed to get away with this. If no one comes forward to state the truth and resign, then it is crystal clear to these thugs that they can get away with anything. I mean ANYTHING! Who will step forward when citizens are rounded up here? A few brave souls may rush to a rescue, but it is clear, very clear, from this example, that those up the chain will follow orders. If not now, WHEN??

They will say we are only attacking him because he’s black, that we never wanted a black prez to succeed, that we couldn’t wait to have a chance to diminish him....etc etc

But we won’t back down because our grandchildren are depending on us to make sure there’s a free country waiting for them when they grow up.

It has nothing to do with him being black and EVERYTHING to do with his committing treason while having been seated as the POTUS! Isn’t that the worst kind of treason?

That involves a scenario where the president’s subordinates were deliberately keeping him in the dark.

In this administration, the buck stops with Valerie Jarrett.

I have looked every which way at this act of aggression against America’s ambassador and the needless death of the brave men who defended him and can only conclude that Obama and all his inner circle are guilty of dereliction of duty. They put “campaign” in front of “command” and must leave office and be prosecuted.

What happened in Benghazi was an act of war. You do not fly off to Vegas when your nation is under attack. You get the smart men working and the brave men working and you bark for constant intel and bark to make it better and you sit on the edge of your seat hoping for the good word that our citizens are safe because, spiritually, you are THERE WITH THEM. So it’s the middle of the night? You drink a whole damn pot of coffee to keep you awake although if your adrelin and determination and love are not enough to keep your eyelids propped then you have no heart and no conscience and need to get a different job.

Although it’s tempting, why blame this decision on anyone else other than the CIC? Why let him off the hook?

VJ was not elected, Zero was. He wanted the job so badly, he deserves ALL the blame when he screws up. He and he ALONE.

I agree 100%. How did Zero know that this wasn’t the beginning of a cascade of attacks on our consulates worldwide? It very well could have been given the date of 9/11.

GWB was excoriated for spending an extra three minutes reading a book before attending to the attack.

It truly was dereliction of duty for Obama to leave the situation room until it was ascertained that this was an isolated attack and not just one in a series to come.

You missed my point entirely. Obama is appearing more and more to be a puppet of Valerie Jarrett. Yes, Obama is to blame, but he apparently is not adequately knowledgeable about current events and relies only on the filtered data that she feeds to him.

I understand where you’re coming from. But I personally think that VJ’s being Obama’s puppetmaster is just another piece of propaganda coming out of the regime.

Obama surrounds himself with people whom he initially puffs up, then blames when it benefits him. How many people has he thrown under the bus in the past few years?

IMO, VJ has become larger than life - just as Zero intended. Helps him with the feminazis.
