AP poll: Majority harbor prejudice against blacks

Racial attitudes have not improved in the four years since the United States elected its first black president, an Associated Press poll finds, as a slight majority of Americans now express prejudice toward blacks whether they recognize those feelings or not.

Those views could cost President Barack Obama votes as he tries for re-election, the survey found, though the effects are mitigated by some Americans' more favorable views of blacks.

Racial prejudice has increased slightly since 2008 whether those feelings were measured using questions that explicitly asked respondents about racist attitudes, or through an experimental test that measured implicit views toward race without asking questions about that topic directly.

In all, 51 percent of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48 percent in a similar 2008 survey.

I love to read the comments on this type of story and as usual they all run along the same line, why are the anti-white actions of blacks never brought up as racist.

And then I post this, although I dont agree with these people who play the race card - to them because whites are the majority and blacks are a minority the blacks can never be tagged as racist because of their minority status.

If 98 percent of the white population voted for the white candidate in 2008 we’d have seen years of stories about “racism” in America over the past four years.

Whites are going to be voting for Romney is quite higher percentages compared to McCain with the greatest increases being in white women. Whites figure if blacks are going to back their awful black candidate to the hilt then we will go opposite to get rid of his incompetence. Blacks are only 11% of the population. My maid of honour and my flower girl were black.The teenage boy that babysat for my children was black. I attended a majority black church with my children about 25 years ago. Unfortunately I started to notice a difference in the attitude of many of the younger generation. They were becoming resentful,angry, lashing out at injustice real or imagined. I found myself pulling away from relationships, in essence segregating myself. I always look at the comedienne Nell Carter as the beginning of the change in attitude. She was a nasty piece of work. Everyone laughed at her biting language that has now become ingrained into our society. Maybe I give her too much credit but the change started long before Obama.

Here’s the deal, MSM: like many mediocre pols Obama got elected (in part) because he is black, but he will not be rejected for reelection (to ANY extent) because he is black.

Just scanned through the article, could not find a single reference to what they counted as racial prejudice. The key phrase is their statement we harbor anti-black sentiments even if we are not aware of them!

Guarantee it includes fact based questions like, do blacks commit more crime, etc.

My sentiments are very similar to yours. obama has brought to the forefront reasons for non-Blacks to question Blacks authority, and for persons of any color to hate faggots and realize Islam is a radical hate filled religion.

They will never understand that it is about the person himself or herself, not about the color of their skin. It is about voting in the right person not the wrong person. To clarify it for them I suppose we could say when voting for a black person for president, it is about voting for the right black person not the wrong black person for president, the latter being what they did. They saw an (supposedly) articulate black person and never questioned his experience, who he is or what he actually stand for. Rather then being color blind and judging Obama on the content of his character, they were blinded by his color and unable to clearing see who this man is. I voted for Alan Keyes in one election and I would have voted for Herman Caine this time if he were the candidate. I would never vote for a communist, muslim sympathizer to be president of the USA and this is what Obama is. If he is re-elected, be scared, very scared for the war in this country will eventually begin. There are militant muslim (redundant term isn’t it?) in this country and they are most likely Obama’s secret army that will attack when his handlers say it is time to destroy us all. I know I sound paranoid, yet on Sept 10th if someone told me they thought something like “911” would happen, I would have said it was something I feared. Of course they would have described it not call it 911. But you get my drift. I suspect that there are powerful wealthy foreign forces at work in all of this. When Romney wins, he needs to not only clean house, but disinfect it.

Obama is the only anti-black person I can point to. He has successfully barred any black person from the position of President for at least a generation due to his ineptness, ideology and incompetence. I hate to say that because Herman Caine, Col. Racism is what put Obama in the White House in the first place. He won in 2008 for one primary reason - his color. What other characteristics does the man have that make him suitable for the job?

They're flopping around like a fish out of water trying to figure out which of the usual emotional triggers will work. The media is desperate because no matter what sort of propaganda they publish and call a poll, the real numbers are telling them that an awful lot of people who voted for Barry in ‘08 are sitting this one out. Those former supporters are not bothering to vote this time because they’re so disappointed in Barry and wondering why they fell for his shuck and jive in the first place.

It won't work, though. Four and five dollar gasoline relieves an awful lot of frail guilt and replace it with very robust anger.
