“Aren’t votes supposed to be counted AFTER the polls close on election day? ....Are they already counting votes? If they are, and publicizing the results, that will influence election day voting.”

Indeed, early vote counting doesn’t start until after a state’s polls has closed. However, one can make a few trend inferences about numbers of early ballots, relative party ratios of early ballots returned, comparisons of same with 2008 numbers, etc.

Thanks for the reply confirming that they are not counting early or absentee votes now.

In other words, all of this hype about one or the other candidate “leading” in the voting at this time is just BS based on guesswork and phony estimates.
