John Dickerson: Here is the tone difference between the two campaigns. The Romney people feel like they are on the march. They feel like, particular in a state like Ohio, they feel like things are getting better. They're moving. They are taking advantage of good opportunities, and the candidate feels buoyant. In the Obama campaign, it's more pointing to the quality of their sandbags.

Sorry to burst your pro-Obama bubble but the Romney campaign is looking like a sure winner, regardless of what some stupid poll you keep citing about his support among men in OH says.
Volume was almost zero for me on this video. Anybody have a different link.
Here’s the narrative in short. What we will see for the next 9 days.
Ignore the only two national independent pollsters. Ignore the fact that they have been polling this race daily for one full year. Ignore the fact that they both show a consistent 4-5 point Romney lead, and a steady 50% number (with only a week to go).
Instead, let’s focus on some obscure way Obama can win.
The media is a joke.
Unfortunately, that’s it. It is a little weak on the sound.
I had to turn up both PC and Youtube volume gadgets.
This link had slightly better volume for me:
Unfortunately their meme is effective in getting a huge portion of the country to buy in. The last poll numbers I seen had Obama still favored by over 20 points on who is more likely to win. Also, take a look at Intrade they have Obama as a 3 to 2 favorite to win.
Many freepers think ‘big deal’, however I think that the ONLY thing keeping Obama abover 45% right now is still the inevitability meme! Without it, he completely collapses. That is why I get so frustrated by Intrade, RCP leaving out certain polls that are favorable to Romney and putting in polls that a junk like Zogby. These things keep the race alive to some degree.
It is getting ridiculous. Obviously, things can change, but at this point, it is clear to anyone that the Obama camp is in a state of panic, because they know they are losing badly. Independents have broken hard for Romney. Republican turnout will be nothing short of gargantuan. Democrats, OTOH, are acting like there isn’t even an election coming up.
If things don’t change, Romney wins by 4-6 points nationally, with a non-trivial chance of a blowout. Obama’s only chance is to squeak by, but to get that, he needs D turnout to rival or even exceed 2008 levels (not going to happen).
Yet, listening to the concern trolls being concerned, you would think that this was an Obama-McCain rematch. Maybe some people just need to be pessimistic so they don’t feel disappointed. All I know is that confident people generally win. Over-confident people also generally win. Cynical people may avoid disappointment, yet they also avoid the winner’s circle.
Ohio will go to Romney. Penn, Minnesota, Michigan, Oregon, and Iowa are toss-ups (given the clear-to-anyone-with-a-pulse Romney momentum). Romney takes at least one of the first four, and quite possibly all of them. The Obama firewall is irrelevant, since the fire is burning on both sides of it, now.
While the Obama campaign team sends out resumes, half of FR acts like it all boils down to an unwinnable Ohio.
Never fight like it is tied. Fight like you know you are going to win, know you are winning, and want to thoroughly annihilate your opponent.
Yup. Wasn’t long ago that the meme was “no way Romney can win FL and VA and NC and CO”. Well he has picked off all of them. All Team Obama has left is hanging on to Ohio by their fingernails as they slide down the cliff.
The real story is Romney is blowing Obama away.
The real story is Romney is blowing Obama away.”
Reminds me of the uprising of the TEA Party in 2010.
But who is Sandy going to blow away?
I’m not so sure there is a inevitability meme any more. They tried to create one, post Dem convention.
But now they are down to creating the close-game narrative. That’s all they have left.
When you are getting blown out you can’t claim you are blowing out the other guy, but you can state that it’s closer than the polls show.
Just remember how we felt in 2008. When Rasmussen and Gallup had Obama up right now 51-45 or so. We would hang on to joke polls like Zogby; and/or some obscure way to win via the electoral college. That is Team Obama today.
It’s a movie been run many times. It’s called the losing campaign.
“Sorry to burst your pro-Obama bubble but the Romney campaign is looking like a sure winner, regardless of what some stupid poll you keep citing about his support among men in OH says.”
See, unlike the other posts with their constructive and thoughtful comments and analyses, when you can’t intelligently argue the thread, you resort to name-calling. Seriously, you represent the kinds of losers the Romney camp can do without.
More and more people here are seeing through you...
Yup, with rose-tinted glasses that make fools of those who do the “seeing” like you.
