Vanloads of Somalians driven to the polls in Ohio

Two volunteer poll workers at an Ohio voting station told Human Events that they observed van loads of Ohio residents born in Somalia — the state is home to the second-largest Somali population in the United States — being driven to the voting station and guided by Democratic interpreters on the voting process. No Republican interpreters were present, according to these volunteers...

No reason to not stop them and call local authorities. Interpreters can not, BY LAW, tell them which way to vote, and this was what occurred.

“Non-English speaking voters may use an interpreter. The interpreters are permitted by law to interpret for the individual voting; however, they are forbidden from influencing their vote in any way. Another source who also wishes to remain anonymous has seen Democrat interpreters show the non-English speaking Somalis how to vote the Democrat slate that they were handed outside. According to this second source, there are not any Republican Somali interpreters available.”

Ok? Did these people bother to report this to the state or did they send a tweet to a blog and thought they really did something?

Would be nice to hear some stories of Republicans driving people in buses to the polls instead of these breathless reports about Democrats from people that then do nothing
but look stupefied as if the other side would make no effort to get voters to the polls.

Why are those people here in the first place?

I live in Maine and back in 2000 Somalis (some here in the US less than 6 months) were voting in the general. And they were voting for Gore. Many Somalis in Maine came here via Georgia and Ohio. Ohio has a LARGE population of Somalis and they DO vote even though they are not suppose to.

Remember, just because you may be a legal immigrant - that does not give you a right to vote in this nation. Sometimes, with all the talk about illegals this point by some can be forgotten.

Somalis claim their children from other wives (who live in Europe) on their income taxes as dependents. They DO vote. It’s not legal for them to do so.

Why are those people here in the first place?

Because us conservative meanies take issue with illegals in our food processing plants so they just bring in radical angry muslims to do it legally.

They came over in the late 1990s. They are still coming. I’ve worked with many of them. They know this system and its faults much more than we Americans do.

There’s one thing that they are ignorant of. They think many of us Americans are more recent immigrants than we really are.

For example, they saw my Italian last name (they LOVE Italy - In fact they often ate italian pasta for lunch at work)

So, they tried speaking Italian with me (thinking that I MUST know the language). Well, I don’t. My ancestors came here from Italy in 1910.

My point is, they trusted me as being more Italian than American. They told me they vote (some of them here less than 6 months) One who voted in 2000 after being here less than 6 months told me that he was “disappointed” in the decision of the USSC when they “selected” Bush over Gore.

They also told me that they claim the maximum allowed dependents on their income tax (which I think is 11 children) They are Muslim so they have multiple wives. Because of US law, their other wives stay in Europe (UK or Italy)but they still claim those wives and children OUTSIDE the US as dependents. If they only have 9 dependents and their neighbor has 13, the neighbor will let the him use the 2 extra dependents on his income tax to get the max of 11.

One more thing. Many of the Somalis I worked with were not our quota of refugees directly from Somalia. They were Europe’s. Once they are in Europe they can apply for US VISAS, then they come here, work and live.

Lastly, the Somali I worked with who was only here under 6 months told me that he and many others studied about America and English using “Newsweek” magazine. He then told me he knew all the names of cabinet members of all the Presidents from Clinton all the way back to the beginning. To prove it to me he named all of JFK’s cabinet members.

These people are not stupid.

I complained about the voting during the 2000 election fiasco to my Senator Snowe. She replied with a letter stating that I must be mistaken because immigrants cannot vote in general elections and she referenced the specific law in the letter.

The government knows. They just don’t care.

We MUST be forcefull and tell this government that we will not allow ourselves to be disenfranchised by voter fraud.

See post #13 if you doubt that Somalis do not vote when they are not suppose to vote.

I have not only seen it with my own eyes, they (my Somali co-workers) have admitted to me that they did vote.

Probably hard to rent a van or bus between now and the election.

So long as they weren't driven to a nearby gun store to buy a gun without ID. THAT would be illegal!

And the Ohio GOP is doing what about it?

Well, our idiot republcian Secretary of State Jon Husted sent them all invitations to register for early voting. Otherwise, Nada. Nichts. The Ohio GOP is a stagnant closed group of countryclubbers. Only candidates' committees do anything in Ohio. I live in Ohio and have yet to receive the first piece of GOP campaign mail. I have received mail from Romney campaign and the Mandel campaign. For lower offices, nothing at all. You would never know there were any republican candidates for anything below Senator.

A similar thing happened in Nashville during the ‘08 election. A woman drove a vanload of Mexicans (non-English speaking) to several poll locations and took them inside to vote. A man observed her with them at one of these locations and followed her afterwards. After going to several locations, she took the Mexicans back to where she’d picked them up, loaded up more, and proceeded to repeat the process.

He called the election committee and others to tell them what was going on but no one would bother to check into it. He finally called a local talk radio host to tell him - and the audience - about it. I heard the call and he was furious.

This is one of the main reasons I don’t like the idea of early voting. Way too many opportunities for this kind of voter fraud.

Why are they driving them to the polls now? The election isn’t for another week and a half.
