Barack Obama for Re-Election
The economy is slowly recovering from the 2008 meltdown, and the country could suffer another recession if the wrong policies take hold. The United States is embroiled in unstable regions that could easily explode into full-blown disaster. An ideological assault from the right has started to undermine the vital health reform law passed in 2010. Those forces are eroding womens access to health care, and their right to control their lives. Nearly 50 years after passage of the Civil Rights Act, all Americans rights are cheapened by the right wings determination to deny marriage benefits to a selected group of us. Astonishingly, even the very right to vote is being challenged.
That is the context for the Nov. 6 election, and as stark as it is, the choice is just as clear.
President Obama has shown a firm commitment to using government to help foster growth. He has formed sensible budget policies that are not dedicated to protecting the powerful, and has worked to save the social safety net to protect the powerless. Mr. Obama has impressive achievements despite the implacable wall of refusal erected by Congressional Republicans so intent on stopping him that they risked pushing the nation into depression, held its credit rating hostage, and hobbled economic recovery.
Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, has gotten this far with a guile that allows him to say whatever he thinks an audience wants to hear. But he has tied himself to the ultraconservative forces that control the Republican Party and embraced their policies, including reckless budget cuts and 30-year-old, discredited trickle-down ideas. Voters may still be confused about Mr. Romneys true identity, but they know the Republican Party, and a Romney administration would reflect its agenda.

You mean this isnt?
This is the only thing that has happened in the past four years that wasn’t “unexpected”.
Isn’t the NY Times still reporting ( as recently as yesterday) that the Benghazi attack was “all about the movie “
No wonder readership of this rag is declineing.
I guess this means the “undecideds” have finally received their marching orders.
Why in the world do sane states with normal people have to be burdened with the disgusting east coast and west coast states? This is simply not a tenable position.
We are no longer “one nation under God” and the sooner a separation takes place, the better it will be for those who love the nation the Founders intended it to be.
Birds everywhere are constipated: refusing to poop on this cage liner of lies!
read these absolutely bizzare comments!!
I say that in very few months the NYT will go under too!
Dog bites man....nothing newsworthy here.
16 ounces of the Kool-aid makes you do crazy things...
I couldn’t get past the first sentence without seeing Oink! Oink! Oink! from the mascara-wearing poodles at the NYT.
Um, hello? FR is made in CA. Don’t throw your baby out with the bath water. There are good conservatives even in bad states and our NY freepers sure donor want to be blamed for this lying rag.
Reckless budget cuts, but adding trillions of dollars to the national debt is just fine....
What world do these people inhabit??!?!?!?!

The Iowa caucus gave us Obama.
Who wrote this cr%$?
"My name is Pinch Sulzberger, and I approve this message!"
Sulzberger was only able to get in one “the right”, one “right wing”, and one “ultraconservative” in the opening words of this commie tripe?
He’s slipping, just like his finances.
Someone can prove me wrong, but I’m fairly certain since the NY Times began endorsing Presidential candidates in the 1950’s they have never endorsed a Republican. The Washington Post, I believe only has one time...Ike.
He's critical and needs professional care!
Is there a Community Organizer in the house?
Tried but just couldn’t stomach it.
This reads like it was written by Tingles..
Almost as idiotic as the New York Times editorial staff’s endorsement are the comments by the readers to this screed. The Left is worse than bed wetters, they are sycophant bed wetters.
In other news of the obvious, water is wet and the Earth revolves around the Sun.
This sounds like a Freeping needed in the worst way, NYT
Wow, first the Washington Post anfd now the New York Times. This is amazing.

I am in El Dorado county and we are a red county and proud of it. Please not all of us in Cali have been brainwashed into oblivian. Remember “ I got a shot gun a rifle and four wheel drive” and this country boy will survive.
Where is the mandatory “Barf Alert” for this kind of post?
Thanks for the link to Birdsend, I bookmarked it and have a few ideas of where to use it.
They all live on the Upper West Side (where I grew up and lived much of my life), think they’re intellectually superior, and talk only to people who are like them and who also think they’re intellectually superior.
Most of them work in publishing, TV, law (but only at lower levels) or in the arts. A lot of them have vague government connections, such as family members working in the schools or state offices, or perhaps grants they have gotten or projects they are working on for one or another level of government. They are quite charming and fun to be with, but they have not a thought that doesn’t pass through their acceptability screening: i.e., is this what I, an incredibly enlightened Upper West Sider, should be thinking?
And I guess they’ve decided to throw it all away, give one last kiss to their beloveds, and go down with the Socialist Ship Obama.
Got to be satire. I'll prove it: He has formed sensible budget policies... Not one of 0bama's budgets have passed the Senate in three years, and it's been controlled by democRATS.
That last cartoon is classic...lol
...like a moth to the flame...or a dog to its vomit...
LSM death spiral continues...
