Bette Midler will once again present a special Halloween event to benefit her New York Restoration Project (NYRP).

Hulaween is NYRP’s annual masquerade ball with a Hawaiian twist in honor of Bette’s home state, attended by a star-studded crowd of nearly 1,000 costumed guests.

The event features special guest Al Gore, a musical performance by Blondie, master of ceremonies Judy Gold, costume judge Michael Kors, an auction with Sotheby’s Hugh Hildesley to support the work of NYRP, and dinner created by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Do recall the backstory of that particular Halloween on FR?

As I recollect the news article said that Al Gore wanted Tipper and himself to go as Beauty and the Beast. The photo showed Al in ante-bellum gown, wig, and make-up, the whole nine yards. Apparently WJC told him it was not a good idea. Thus the underdog suit.

I had snatched the photo but it resides on one of the old computers.
