We always say that, as most recently as 2010. I'm hopeful and confident that the wave of 2010 continues fully and completely into the WH and Senate which would embolden a truly conservative Romney who knows drastic measures, cuts, etc. are needed.
If he's got congressional support, we can finally get it done. He'll have Paul Ryan insisting that it is not possible to kick the can down the road any longer. The time is now.
You, Mitt Romney, will have a mandate if for no other reason; we're staring insolvency in the face.. You, Mitt Romney, better than almost anyone else, understand how to fix this. The support you are receiving with a huge raw vote victory (and electoral win to match ?) is license to get serious.

I read this last night:

It’s not that I don’t think that gang is capable of arranging a death for political purposes.
I just don’t think they would attempted such a thing during an election year. Too many things could go wrong and, as is always with these things, you get more than one person involved in conspiracy like this it will not remain secret forever, that’s just how it goes.
I think you are looking at what, I would guess, from the beginning looked like a tame thing to the WH/State Department.
I think the natives got restless outside the embassy and it was reported as same, routine. The memos made it where they were supposed to go but it was yawn time.
At some point all hell broke out and I just think everybody got it wrong. Everybody.
The State Dept kept saying to be patient, Humador’s calling her Muslim contacts, she’ll get somebody to settle it down. Preezie would be able to go to Las Vegas in the morn, no sweat.
The CIA was reporting I supppose, the army guys. Everybody doing their job, nobody much paying attention.
Then the calls came in. This agency was reporting that, some army group wants to know if they should go in, the drone operator wants to know if guns should be fired. Reports that the Seal contractors were going to save the day came in so they waited. Nope, don’t bother that air base in Italy, we’re good.
Meanwhile Jarrett and Axelrod are bending preezie’s ear, dear Lord we don’t need this, a terror attack two weeks before the election, Al Queda doing it, no less. Oh no this will cost the election, what can we do?
Humidor comes up with the video thing, she gets out the word to give all the rioters five bucks to come run the streets like they do to scare Americans.
This gets rigged up, Rice will speak to the TV; technically she represents the UN. Somebody calls up all the Muslim types and they say why not issue a big apology, something make our people respect us? Muslim Brotherhood being all new to the reins of power and a good word or two, America on her news for insulting the Propher Muhummad. Might be worth one of those big dumps of debit cards without bother of identity to the Obama campaign now that you mention.

I found Panetta comments instructive, i.e., you don't send people into harm's way until you have all the facts and intel. No doubt this was the line that Panetta used when it was discussed with the national security team as the crisis was unfolding. It gave Plouffe et. al. an excuse not to take action. I am sure that Hillary probably mentioned the possible collateral damage done to innocent Libyans who lived near the annex and consulate compound and how that would damage our bilateral relations with Libya.
So no action was taken and the video and investigation became the delaying tactic until after the election. They didn't factor in the input of whistleblowers who leaked what actually happened. Now Obama is trying to blame DOD and the CIA for the failure to act since he allegedly said that he ordered them to take all actions necessary to protect our people under fire in Benghazi. This is a lie.
I wish that Petraeus or General Ham would have the integrity and honor to blow this story out of the water before the election. Or perhaps some of the whistleblowers on the ground who leaked the details. It would doom Obama's chances entirely of being reelected.
It might help if Freepers only posted election returns in their area...not all the “comments” that don’t relate.

It is really tragic that the mainstream media is not reporting on this, because these guys were heroes. What an incredible story. Even if the MSM did not want to report on the political ramifications, these American heroes need to be given the admiration and praise that is their due.

I would be careful with that claim. The only source that I can find for it is one Democrat congressman, who may very well be the one lying.

The MSM has suffered under Obama. The MSM is now crippled.

The administration had a lot invested in putting out the meme that everything was A OK in Libya. Even though we were the only ones left there!Everyone else had abandoned their embassies and most infidels had left the area.
