President Obama is warning Americans living in the path of Hurricane Sandy not to take the storm threat lightly.
"So my main message to everybody involved is that we have to take this seriously," Obama said Sunday during a visit to Federal Emergency Management Agency headquarters, calling the hurricane a "serious and big storm."
Obama joined FEMA administrator Craig Fugate, to review emergency plans for the storm which is poised to impact the entire northeastern United States.
Estimates are that 60 million Americans live in the path of the storm which is expected to cause power outages and snarl transportation networks up and down the East Cast for days. Public transit in New York and New Jersey is already set to close late Sunday and early Monday, and intercity bus and rail systems have started closing.

It sounds like Barry watches the Weather Channel a lot.
Benghazi was a serious and big storm.
barry, its ok. hide under your bed and plug your ears so you won’t hear any thunder.
whatever you do, stay out of the way and let real men and women take care of it. this is a situation that calls for adults.
blessings, bobo
the attack on the consulate in Benghazi was pretty serious, too, you loathsome, odious, hollow shell of a man..
Not postpone, but rather make the claim that the election is invalid, because too many of Holder’s people in the northeast were disenfranchised because they couldn’t get to the voting booth.
Hey Obama, no matter how much you try to deflect the attention to this storm, all the rain and all the wind can’t take away the blood of 4 dead Americans that you have on YOUR hands
Notice how the storm is effecting mostly Dem blue states and regions? Just sayin....’
His main message was for everyone to take him seriously because he knows his credibility is on the wane. That’s what you get when you’re the Weatherman-in-Chief.
BINGO!! They will extend the voting.
So now Obama is now trying out to be the weather girl. Why am I not surprised?
obviously its big and serious
it is probably no longer a hurricane though, right?
It had weakened. It’s going to be a major rain/ice event though
was it just me? i was watching Chris Wallace - he had just starting questioning his pannel about Benghazi when it was interupted by ears blabbering on about “big serious Sandy”
Praying this thing calms down a little, and that the worse doesn’t happen.
But, if the worst does come, I’m praying ‘bam stays away.
God help us if he gets involved.
“Benghazi was a serious and big storm.”
Beat me to it, Bobo.
I bet that storm sweeps away a lot of early Republican votes.
Maybe we should all go to Vegas.
Next, he’ll be out on the beaches with the herd of TV weather people....looking serious and promising all kinds of goodies to the affected voters.
By the way, after the TX wildfires last year, people got their checks from FEMA and this year, they’ve been notified to send the money back because of a “technicality.” Of course, victims of the fire had used it to rebuild, but that is of no consequence to the bureaucrats in D.C.
Moral: It is always best NOT to deal with FEMA, unless it’s to get ice or water. That they can usually handle.
Hey ZERO..BOOHA!!!!
“the Weatherman-in-Chief”
Phrase of the day!
I didnt see it so I don’t know..but I bet the libs are VERY happy this hurricane is coming since it will take the focus off of Libya..guess Obama didn’t care about Benghazi since Libya isn’t a swing state
I am constantly amazed by 0bama's intellect.
Remember how these same people were wishing that hurricane (Isaac?) would wipe out the GOP convention in FL?
God is delivering for humanity, by gently smiting those who would deny the abiding need to return to basic moral principles. If it is raining/snowing and cold, that is enough to dampen enthusiasm among the probable Obama voters.
Since these are majority-Liberal areas, it shall be incumbent upon the “broken-glass” conservatives to make every exertion to get to the polls, in hopes the numbers may favor them in areas otherwise forfeit.
“Maybe we should all go to Vegas.”...
A crisis is a terrible thing to waste!
I’d say BenghaziGate is the biggest thing with hot winds and spinning clouds I see on his radar...

Gee, he didn’t do much about the ice storm in 2011, come to think of it.
Now he's "concerned" about the weather.
oops. 2009.
“Knowledge is good”. Emil Faber
“where we’re going to see the biggest impacts and that’s exactly why it’s so important for us to respond big and respond fast as local information starts coming in.”
And all those in harms way should not Stand Down but leave for higher ground!
Spot on equaviator. I had totally forgotten about the worm’s words.
Has he consulted the Al Gore oracle yet? He’ll tell us what to think.
It's about all he's really qualified for...
I suspect he also said it’s the kind of storm with wind and rain, so we better take it seriously.../s
Ships that go under the water called submarines will be OK, but planes that land on ships, called aircraft carriers, might have a tough time landing.../s
Thank goodness we have such a brilliant leader! /s
If he was really “The Cool One” like his followers make him out to be he would know that the storm is hugh and series
S.O.S.
Sketchy Over Sandy
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste”
Lol - he came up with serious and big all by himself, I’ll bet. He has such a monumental command of the English language.
Last I checked, Sandy was a CAT 1 storm—I repeat, a CAT 1 storm. In other words, a glorified thunderstorm that gives no indication of strenghtening. A CAT 1 storm that will make landfall a week before Election Day.
I suppose living in Florida where our three seasons of the year—Warm, Hot, Hurricane—has made me insensitive; but I really can’t get excited about this. Also, I seriously doubt the results will be as “catastrophic” as the incontinent media is speculating (hoping).
“Since these are majority-Liberal areas, it shall be incumbent upon the broken-glass conservatives to make every exertion to get to the polls, in hopes the numbers may favor them in areas otherwise forfeit.”
That is me and only my actual death will stop me voting against the clown president.
OMG! You are EXACTLY right...PLEASE LORD in Jesus name, drive this storm away, far far away from the US...we pray!
That’s what I dont get.
This is a minor hurricane by any standard. Barely above a tropical storm.
It will rain alot....but then so what? The east coast has had worse storms before.
Read: "My re-election is counting on it!"
Rain. Plus storm surge. Plus full moon and high tide.
It isn't the wind speed that is the problem. It's the water.
On the other hand it made a relatively sharp left turn to get to DC, rather like Romney's career, but on leaving the area it will make a SHARP RIGHT TURN and head due North raining, and blowing, and snowing, and icing, and doing just all sorts of stuff to New York City and the deep blue states ~ tearing up jack!
Looks to me like the hand of God.
With all that the only question is can Mitt live up to the billing ~~
Again, prayers to those of you in the path of this mess.
Now B-HO is going to give us the weather report? Already nobody believes a word that comes out of his mouth.
Crap! That means an earthquake here in CA!
