Media Continues its Abandonment of Obama

By Mr. Curmudgeon:

Denial is not a river in Egypt. That in effect is the theme of the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel's Friday editorial endorsement of Mitt Romney for president. "When President Obama came into office in 2009, the economy was in freefall and though untested, he inspired us with promise of hope and change. Now, four years later, we have little reason to believe he can turn things around," said the Sentinel.

"... Rather than articulate a compelling vision for growth," continued the Sentinel, "the president falls back on the tired talking point of increasing taxes for the wealthy ... it's hard to see how raising taxes is going to kick start jobs in the private sector."

Having admitted its mistake (the Sentinel endorsed Obama in 2008), the newspaper said, "We believe Romney will help this nation find the political will to address the challenges with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid ... The greatest threat to our national defense is not the size of our military, but the ever-escalating size of our national debt. We must get government spending under control, across the board ... We believe the best chance to get America back working again is to elect Mitt Romney. That's why we endorse him for president."

There is nothing like a near-death experience to help focus the mind.

The excuse making by the president and his supporters is at long last falling flat: They can't explain away nearly 6 trillion dollars added to the nation's debt; they can't explain away the fiscal cliff approaching us this January; they can't explain away 23 million chronically unemployed Americans; they can't explain away the expansion of government power at the expense of the individual - personified by ObamaCare's dictatorial "individual mandate"; they can't explain away a collapsing economy barely held together by Federal Reserve bailouts and quantitative easing; they can't explain away a foreign policy that blames an obscure YouTube video for inspiring the murder of Americans in Libya than admit Al-Qaeda terrorists attacked America on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11; they can't explain away the deaths of a U.S border patrol agent and hundreds of innocent Mexican citizens resulting from their sale of weapons to Mexican drug cartels and Central American gangs.

Less than two weeks before Americans head to the polls, the media's blind support for the president is dissolving. It's crunch time, and there are no excuses left for defending the indefensible - that Barack Obama should remain President of the United States.

So Obama's "honeymoon" with the media lasted until around mid-October 2012.

President Romney's honeymoon with the media will end on approximately January 21, 2013 - give or take a day.

There are only four kinds of Obama voters:

1. Communists or their door mat socialist farm team.
2. The grossly ignorant.
3. The mentally challenged (we used to say retarded).
4. Fools.

Some may fit all four categories, but every last Obama voter is in at least one.

NY Times - the last to go (as is their prerogative) but they and their followers will be remembered for their actions.

Hey there Washington Post - feeling lonely yet?

“Nope, sorry no switching sides now. The MSM will follow Obama spinning straight down the commode.”

I don’t think so. The MSM is so clearly in the tank for “liberalism”, when they see Obama is losing, they will make the election about him and his failings, not the political concepts he espouses. Look, the MSM media created Obama. They can easily un-create him. Live by the MSM, die by the MSM.

Our local paper is so deep in the tank for Obama that they’ve run one story on the latest Benghazi revelations - that on Friday, all the administration line - Panetta: you can’t have a military response without real-time intelligence, our critics are Monday morning quarterbacking.

Not one word about what actually happened in Benghazi, the actions of Woods and Dougherty, what they achieved and endured and how they died, nothing about the three requests for help, the surveillance drones, the radio communications, the laser targetting the AQ fighters, the military ready to move and told stand down, stand down.

The editors and reporters must be on their knees thanking the God most don’t believe in that Hurricane Sandy is a-comin’ and they can fill their pages and that all their readers care about is the wind howling and the water rising near home.

Well… while there is a bit of evidence that some “Media Continues its Abandonment of Obama”, I was curious today to see if Benghazi was even a small story on the alphabet network news home pages.

CBS had a small link near the bottom of the page to something entitled ‘Libyan witnesses recount organized Benghazi attack’….here are a couple of lines from the article: But they also suggest the militants may have used the film controversy as a cover for the attack. The ambiguity has helped fuel the election-time bickering in the United States ever since. The Obama administration has sent out muddled messages whether it was a planned attack or a mob protest that got out of control. A day after the attack, President Barack Obama referred to "acts of terror."

CNN had a very small link to an article entitled “Panetta: No real-time info in attack” which had these few lines in it…. “The U.S. military did not get involved during the attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, last month because officials did not have enough information about what was going on before the attack was over, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said Thursday. At a Pentagon news briefing, Panetta said there was no "real-time information" to be able to act on, even though the U.S. military was prepared to do so.

NBC and ABC had absolutely zero on the homepages about Benghazi. So…. Would I agree that ‘Media Continues its Abandonment of Obama’? That would be a joke, right?

Your four kinds of Obama voters is right on the money. The few Obama supporters I have talked with fall into the grossly ignorant and/or fools catagories.
