Dem warning: Obama could lose Wisconsin
Washington Examiner ^ | October 28, 2012 | Alan Blinder

“If the election was held today, President Barack Obama would lose the state of Wisconsin because where his base is, we have not turned out the vote early," Mayor Michael Hancock told a Democratic rally. "The suburbs and rural parts of Wisconsin – the Republican base – are voting. President Obama’s base has yet to go vote.

"We've got to get our people to go vote," Hancock said.

Early voting, which began in Wisconsin on Oct. 22, is a central component of Obama’s strategy to win the state. The president won Wisconsin four years ago by 14 percentage points, but recent polls show the race with Republican Mitt Romney tightening, and that is fueling Republican enthusiasm about their chances of seizing the state. --snip--

Joe Zepecki, a spokesman for Obama’s campaign in Wisconsin, said. “But the numbers we are seeing do not back up his assessment that our base is not turning out.”

Can I assume it is a glass of Red campaign disarray - vintage early Nov. 2012?

Hard to believe that the DEMs would openly come out and say this.

Actual data that shows why Obama has good reason to be worried:

What I can’t figure out is why a state that elected a Republican governor, Scott walker, TWICE in two years would suddenly turn around and vote for the African communist Ubama.

Unless you plan to continue voting day after day, does a vote in October count more than a vote in November?

How many dems in Wisconsin have ever seen a badger?

From what I hear the only grouchier badass is his cousin, the wolverine. And bears won’t mess with them.

Rock on Badger State!

Spent part of the day motoring through Milwaukee, where I saw several prominent “Romney/Ryan” yard signs in front of private residences. While there were also some signs promoting Zero and other Democrats, the neighborhood seemed to be equally divided.

Milwaukee is usually reliably Democratic, so I took the presence of the Republican signs to mean that Obama is going to have trouble holding his base in what should be a normally liberal voting district. Wisconsin looks to be in play.

Never been there, but I sensed a groundswell with the Governor, the recall, the showdown with the unions, and oh yes, my hero SP there last spring on a raw day.

Bring the Rust Belt back- it was the first strong arm of US industrialism. We won two World Wars with the strength of the industrial North!

The MSM wants everyone to forget about the first Walker election and the recall election.

The notion that Romney would ever have run far behind Walker is MSM steaming bull-hockey.

“Actual data that shows why Obama has good reason to be worried:”

Yeah, like Walker won how many recall attempts? it takes one guy with ideas to wipe away all of the crap!

I predict Wisconsin will give Romney a shot.

Romney had best live up to Walker’s ability, or a win there will not be repeated...

In my subdivision in NE Ohio there were no political signs for national campaigns, then about three weeks ago, someone plopped an Obama sign up in their yard along a very well traveled street.

No one ripped the Obama sign down, or vandalized their car or home, but Romney signs started popping up all around that house, and continued for blocks away.

My 9 year old son commented that if he were that guy, he would take the Obama sign down, even if he was gonna vote for him, so his neighbors would like him still...

Yes, I have to hold onto faith that they won’t exhibit bipolarism in their voting.

If the Obama ground game in Wisconsin is anything like the pathetic ground game in Ohio that LS has been reporting about, they may be saying this because it would be the only way to get Barry’s attention.
