New Poll Projects: Romney 52, Obama 47
Weekly Standard ^

Posted on 10/29/2012 2:29:01 AM PDT by Arthurio

The bipartisan Battleground Poll, in its “vote election model,” is projecting that Mitt Romney will defeat President Obama 52 percent to 47 percent. The poll also found that Romney has an even greater advantage among middle class voters, 52 percent to 45 percent.

While Obama can close the gap with a strong voter turnout effort, “reports from the field would indicate that not to be the case, and Mitt Romney may well be heading to a decisive victory,” says pollster Ed Goeas.

Should Romney win by 5 percentage points, it would increase Republican chances of gaining control of the Senate. His coattails would help elect GOP Senate candidates in Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. “Republicans are now certain to hold the House,” Goeas said, “regardless of how the presidential race turns out.”

The poll’s election model takes into account variables including voter intensity, age, and education, and voters who are certain in their vote. The race “remains very close in the surface,” Goeas said, “but the political environment and the composition of the likely electorate favor Governor Romney.”

Mot only does Romney lead in 95% of the polling in which the questions asked are who do you trust to create jobs, better the economy along with who is a better leader, but he also now leads in an area that the libs have been jumping up and down about while they point to it as the reason Obama will win and that is “likeability”.

But now we have this from the Newsmax article:

“For the first time this year, Romney has a majority favorable image. His favorability rating is 52 percent, Obama’s is 51 percent. According to the poll, Romney is viewed favorably by a majority of independents (59 percent), seniors (57), married voters (61), moms (56), college graduates (54), middle class voters (56), and middle class families (61).”

So, if Romney leads in EVERY category which the likely voters views as “most important” and he is in addition more likeable, how, HOW can any poll show Obama leading, if only by a single point?

Imagine if you will you are speaking to someone about the election and you ask him his feelings about the above issues and who is better suited to handle them. The person you are addressing admits all of them, the economy, jobs, leadership, experience and likeability are favoring Romney and further agrees the issues are the most important to him as a voter.

Then you ask him who he will vote for on November 6th. He says “I will vote for Obama”.

Is that a WTF moment or what?

All the broken glass (and the nails strewn about a tea party rally parking lot) have been buried in the dirt by tens of thousands of feet attending Romney-Ryan rallies and at Chick-a-Filla diners.....leaving a clear path to the November 6 vote.

The Tsunami will wash away Obama and his czars and minions...

The dims will be buried in the dustbin of history.

It is a different poll. The one you refer to is a snapshot of the topline question of who will people vote for, while this one is a projection on who will win based on a weighing of all the internals such as leadership qualities, jobs creation handling the economy, likeability etc. It is all these areas in which Romney has a strong lead that factored into the projection for the winner on Nov 6th.

would not put anything past this admin, not specifically dumbo but specifically the women behind the man child. Specifically Valerie Jarrett and Moochelle, Valerie because she loves the power, Michelle because she loves the freebies and lifestyle.
Obama does not have the guts, nads or fortidude to stand up to either so what they say he will do.

As far as the Constitution - that is a living breathing ever changing document as far as these folks are concerned

While Benghazi is outrageous I have repeatedly stated that this was too complex an issue tying it to Obama WITHOUT THE DRIVE-BY MEDIA, that it won't make an impact before the election. And he'll be gone in 2013 and no Republicans are going to waste time with an investigation toward impeachment.

Sometimes there is no justice. Clinton got away with rape, after all.

One word: Chick-fil-a.

I believe what we saw on Chick-fil-A day is just the tip-of-the-iceberg of what's coming Obama's way next Tuesday. A HUGE, silent majority will show up and quietly vote.

Too bad that this minor hurricane blew the Benghazi scandal off the radar the week before the election.,,,a cruel development.

Sandy won't last till next week. By Wed/Thur new revelations on Benghazi can take the headlines on Drudge, FOX, Breitbart, etc.

I heard on the news this morning early voting is canceled in Maryland and DC today. Once the power goes out (late today/tonight) it will be days before it is restored. This is going to be a big hit to the EV efforts in these areas.
