Even if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan win on November 6, his agenda will be stymied if Republicans can't pick up at least three more seats than their current 47 and control the Senate. That's clear from the last two years, when Harry Reid's not-so-deliberative body became the graveyard for fiscal and other reform.
House Republicans won an historic midterm election in 2010, picking up 63 seats. They also gained six Senate seats, but a handful of weak GOP candidates (Sharron Angle, Ken Buck, Christine O'Donnell) cost them control of the upper body. Back in charge in 2011, Mr. Reid proceeded to stop nearly everything that House Republicans passed. President Obama hasn't even had to sweat a veto fight because nothing escapes Mr. Reid's lost world.
Consider the record. In 2011 and 2012 the House passed more than three-dozen economic or jobs-related bills and with only a few exceptions they died in the Senate without a vote. The bills dealt with regulatory relief, tax reduction, domestic drilling for energy, offshore drilling, a jobs bill for veterans, repeal of ObamaCare and many more. Many passed the House with significant Democratic support, as the nearby list shows.
Then there is the Democratic failure on their constitutional obligation of passing a budget. House Republicans passed their budgets in each of the past two years in the spring. The latest one, crafted by Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan, contained $4.5 trillion in deficit reduction—at least twice as much as Mr. Obama's budget proposal.
By contrast, the Senate failed to pass any budget in 2012. Or 2011. Or 2010. The Senate hasn't passed a budget in more than 1,200 days. Sorry, Harry, you can't blame that on a Republican filibuster, because it takes only 51 votes to pass a Senate budget resolution.

Those Democrats voting in the House with Republicans more than likely took cover for their pending reelections knowing Reid would stonewall those bills.

And this time two strong candidates who just had to fall into the rape trap will do the same if not worse.
If Romney wins, he will be facing not only this nightmare, but an even larger one:
The economy and financial state he will inherit is many times worse than the one that was handed to Obama.
He will be restrained from dealing with it because of the Senate, #1, as this article states. #2, the actions required to undo the damage done by Obama to the nation’s balance sheet will be unpopular to far more than the 47% who depend on the gov. So what he will be able to enact may be the very thing that prevents him from being re-elected in 2016.

Yep, if the Repubs take back the senate, dingy harry’s threats don’t mean spit.
You need Senate approval to spend money, but there must be ways that Romney could cut spending without such approval. Simply get his departments to cut unnecessary expenditures. You probably couldn’t do that with the big ticket items such as Medicare/Medicaid, but there are plenty of other areas where the spending is discretionary. Start by directing the Secretary of Energy to stop wasting billions on crazy-eyed alternative energy boondoggles.
Just sidestep Congress. Obama did it all the time and no one did a thing except whimper.
If a Republican tries it, there will be a million Dems on the streets of DC screaming for his blood. They will occupy the halls of Congress (as they did to the legislative building in Wisconsin) and stage a human-wave assault on the White House.
And the press will back them.
With a simple majority vote, if the Republicans take control of the senate, they can do for their benefit, what Reid has threatened to do, and done, to them.
That is, Reid threatened to take away the filibuster, and also stop the ability of a single senator to put a “hold” on the business of the senate and approval of nominations for appointive office.
And for the better part of four years, Reid has effectively marginalized the Republicans in both the senate and the house, in the senate by changing the rules to strip them of power, and in the house by refusing for the senate to even begin the budget process. Instead he has insisted that all of congress must pass “continuing resolutions” of the last W. Bush budget.
Were the house to refuse to do so, it would “shut down the government”, which when the Republicans did it during the Clinton years, the Democrats, with full MSM support, blamed them, and the public believed the lie.
So in effect, Harry Reid has been the real US president, and a bad one, for the last four years.
And, curse him, he has now threatened that if the Democrats lose in the election, the lame duck senate will do their level best to bring about a real depression, cripple our military, and leave behind as much chaos as they can.
So the bottom line to the next Republican senate majority leader is that with a Republican president and a Republican congress, Democrat perfidy and obstructionism will no longer be tolerated. The Democrats must taste their own medicine, and be relegated to being inconsequential as the Republicans strive to repair the damage the Democrats have done.
If the Republican senate majority leader is a weakling, heaven help us all. For every time he extends an olive branch to the Democrats, they will use it to harm both the Republicans and our nation. As they lose, they must instead be given a dunce cap and told to sit in the corner and be quiet.
Baloney. Conservatives are, at best, about 40% of the electorate. In order to elect a good, solid conservative, that candidate must appeal to RINOs, independents, namby pambys, and other associated folk in order to get to 51%. In addition, you can expect the Democrats to lie and cheat and tell voters that your great conservative candidate is evil personified and will take away all of your entitlements, destroy your freedom to do drugs and get free birth control, and round up anyone not a member of the Daughters of the Revolution. This is why Angle, Buck, and O'Donnell lost - they were bad candidates who could not appeal to the people we need to win an election. That's why good conservative candidates who come up short on election day are called LOSERS. We need conservative candidates who are winners.
Democrats must lose the Senate. Don’t be fooled by Democrat candidates who put on their “conservative” values every six years to get re-elected, but vote with Harry Reid every time he needs their vote.

What dem Senators not in dark blue States, up for re-election will be able to isolate themselves from the nobama sinking? I can not think of one who has stood up to the super libs, Dingy Harry or nobama? They will be attached to nobama’s fail coattails.

Lots of good comments on the polling skewing taking place to create the appearance of a horse race. Romney is on track to win big, 5-8% IMO based on the internals of these polls.
There is another big factor to consider when viewing the skew in these polls. The same bias exist in the polls for the Senate races, if things break right we could go +5-7 in the Senate: PA, VA, FL, WI, MT, MO, ND.
Also factor in Tea Party Senators taking over for RINO’s in IN & TX.
