Obama Suggests ‘Secretary of Business’ in a Second Term (Fascism Alert!)
Wall Street Journal ^ | 10/29/12

President Barack Obama signaled if he wins a second term he would appoint a Secretary of Business to oversee newly-consolidated government agencies, including the Small Business Administration, and predicted “a war” will break out within the Republican Party after the Nov. 6 election.

“We should have one Secretary of Business, instead of nine different departments that are dealing with things like giving loans to SBA or helping companies with exports,” Mr. Obama said in an interview that aired Monday on MSNBC. “There should be a one-stop shop.”

giving loans to SBA

Idiotic comment by 0baMao...Nobody "gives" loans to SBA.

In reality, SBA secures loans for businesses.

Boy, this obummer guy has his finger right on the pulse of American public opinion. Create another layer of government to fix all the other layers that are broken.

Hey there’s an idea. No one’s ever thought of that before. A single department for dealing with business. But we should call it the Dept. or Commerce or something.

This is why the famous Niemöller quote is so appropriate for today.

Marxists have always dealt in class warfare.

Duh, we already have a “Secretary of Business,” and he is called The President of the United States of America.

However, Obama might just have stumbled onto the truth here, as for the last almost 4 years our Nation has not had a President of the United States of America.

Thus, “Empty-Chair” Obama may have been calling to be replaced by expert businessman Romney.

BTW, any FReepers out there who would post a reference to President Calvin Coolidge who famously said: “The business of America is business.” ? Thanks.

Would the Secretary of Business help the Department of Bureaus and Agencies communicate with the Bureau of Agencies and Departments and the Agency of Departments and Bureaus? If so, the Department of Redundancy Department could become obsolete.

What world does Obama live in?!? He actually sees this as a political fight and not a fight over the future of the country. The “war” Obama hopes for, if he wins and pushes his power grab, will be much bigger than within the Republican party.

2014 will make 2010 seem like a high school student council election.

I guess we can also expect him to enact the “Fair Share Law”.

Atlas Shrugged...

Yay, a fair share for everyone! I mean we should pay everyone the same amount, you know I think some people in business would be happier sweeping floors getting the same salary as CEO because there is less mental stress sweeping floors...

Go Galt...

Funny, but in the Starr Report Monica Lewinsky reportedly asked Clinton if she could be his "Secretary of Blowjobs." With this bunch, don't rule anything out!

a Conservative policy would GET RID OF all the agencies and progerams handing out taxpayers money to politically favored businesses

what small businesses need is less regulation not more taxpayer cash

what small busineses need is regulations that must exist to not be written so as to favor larger companies

what small businesses need is a regulatory even playing field across all types of businesses in their business sector, not special programs for them

what small businesses need is local banks that lend to build companies and employment as much as they lend to build houses, because without jobs there are not incomes to pay for the home mortgages (take care of building jobs and you don’t need to do special things for housing - it will follow higher employment levels without any “stimulus”)

we already have an executive branch Trade Representative for negotiating trade agreements - that is the begining and end of any proper government executive branch role in promoting “exports”; all other “export” programs represent taxpayer funding bought by special business interests that can’t compete, in exports, without taxpayer subsidies/loans/incentives, indicating they are not economically “most efficient” in the global marketplace to begin with - if capitalists won’t help them directly why should the taxpayers

Obama’s proposal is more smoke and mirrors from the Marxist Wizard of Oz in the White House
