Interview with Senator McCain re Benghazi (John McCain Spitting Fire; Vows to Put Obama Officials Un

John McCain is on fire over the Benghazi abandonment and coverup, and vows to put the responsible parties under oath before his committee when the GOP retakes the Senate. I have many differences with Senator McCain, but I have never heard him express the level of anger and passion that he holds on this issue. Good for him!

A transcript of Hugh Hewitt's interview is provided at the source...

Did anyone bother to read the transcript before launching petty barbs at the hated John McCain? Come on, fellas - he was an awful Presidential candidate, but John McCain has displayed more raw courage in his lifetime than the rest of us put together. I listened to the interview, and it is obvious that leaving Americans to die on the battlefield absolutely sets him off. He is spitting mad at Obama.

And to those who claim he's not doing all he can to force the issue in the Senate... There is nothing the minority can force upon the majority - we can settle that next Tuesday!

Another congressman blowing hot air. He will accomplish absolutely nothing useful.

Did anyone bother to ask McQueeg why he was in such an all fired rush to get involved in Libya’s internal problems?

So this is what you do to people fighting on your side? That's a great way to build and hold a minority - with only the virgin purists welcome to join us. Abandoning men in a fight has pulled McCain's string, and he is out for blood. I'll take his help.

I bet that obama was coked up that night. That’s why he went to bed.

Let me get this straight... The enemy's jugular is exposed, and you think this is the best time to take out the man whose knife is pressed against his throat? McCain is out front on this - and our side is shooting at him. Amazing.

McQueeg has some answers of his own to give and I don’t intend to stop asking them because they’re inconvenient for you.

I hope McQueeg is not part of some rope-a-dope cover for BO. The msm will tar Romney with any of McQueeg’s missteps.

This story from 9/12 said troops were sent from Tripoli. Marines.

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/09/12/13833848-us-diplomats-marine-rescue-team-were-also-attacked-at-safe-house-libyans-say?lite

Big Gov layer reported no Marines were in Libya at the time.

Any of this cleared up later?

McCain? That didn’t take very long. Looks like the fix is in early. I have no faith whatsoever in McCain. If anything, he’s how they will get away with it.

I think he’s more interested in covering his own butt. Why did he go rabid at Michele Bachmann when she said we need an investigation of Muslim Brotherhood ties in our own government?

Sure looked suspicious to me.

Sure, we need an investigation of all of this but McCain needs to stay out of it or be prepared to give some testimony of his own.

Sadly congressional investigations are nothing but show anyway. Can anyone remember the last time a congressional investigation or hearing accomplished anything?

"If [cross-border authority] never comes, the men in Behghazi must rely only on assets already “in country” in Libya, such as the Tripoli QRF and the Predators."

Great point, but some reports are there were two Predators operating over Libya, and there is still a question as to if one or both may have been armed.

Senator Udall clammed up when asked that very question. He did not say: "I don't know", he say "I cannot comment on that". That suggests he knew, and why would he know that level of detail? So I take Udall's comment as a tacit "yes".

Also, one of the security team was reported to be designating the attackers with a laser while requesting support. That suggests support was very close by. If not an AC-130, then perhaps an armed Predator or a Reaper.

The Hellfire missile which arms Predators is a laser-homing missile. The Reaper can also carry laser-guided bombs. AC-130s have CONOPS to work in close concert with Predator drones.

Something smells very badly here. Why would a security person laze a target if he thought help was 500 miles and over two hours away?

My guess is there were armed drones overhead, primarily for reconnaissance, but available for combat. And the stand-down was done because Obama did not want to appear to be starting a war eight weeks before the election. When things went really bad, the "YouTube Meme" was used to distract the media and the public.

The other scary thing is the YouTube Meme was actually ginned up by the government prior to September 11th and prior to the attack. That suggests they may have known about a possible Al Qaeda attack and wanted to have it be lost among the riots.

Obama combines the paranoia of Nixon with the competence of Carter.

Apparently the aged Juan is confused. He NEVER acts like a conservative unless he is up for election again within 6 months. Obviously he believes his election day is in 2012 rather than 2016!

Besides, what better way to cover his own butt than lead an investigation of someone else.

Whew! Had a nasty flashback of Jamie Gorelick when you said that.

Jamie Gorelick

LOL Even Wiki names her the Mistress of Disaster.

>>Her involvement in many of the major tragedies and high-profile American scandals of the past two decades has led some in the press to dub her the “Mistress of Disaster.”<<

McCain sounded really good in that interview. I would like to see all of congress just as outraged. The problem is I don't trust John McCain or his motivations, at all. If he does all the things he says he would like to do in that interview then I guess I will owe him and you an apology. But I can just as easily see him and Lindsay Graham turning around and undermining an effort to prosecute this at some later time. It wasn't that long ago John McCain told us we had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency. I didn't believe him then either.
