Perfect made to order for the MSM.

Its meme this morning is disaster preparedness is too great a responsibility to turn over to the states.

The Chocolate City was “special” as regards that problem. I mean, where else are you gonna see POLICE OFFICERS pushing shopping carts full of loot through a Wal-Mart?

In spite of the anecdotes I just don’t see looting of those proportions happening in NY/NJ. I could be wrong.

If it *does* happen, I don’t expect we’ll see many pictures of looting mobs of Holder’s People on our teevees, not with the election only a week away.

New Orleans was besieged with reports of looting, rape, and murder, causing delayed troop deployments, delayed medical evacuations, and police department mutiny,

Well it was New Orleans!

We fared pretty good in Rochester, NY. Although it rained and blew pretty good, we only got a bit of basement seepage and the power momentarily went out, but came right back on. Monroe County tried to get people to evacuate their homes along the Lake Ontario shoreline, but most people stayed as the lake level is especially low this year and the waves didn’t hit the houses. 20,000 people did lose power.

Call me a cynic but I see this as nothing but a build up so that, when New Orleans style behavior doesn’t occur, the media can fall back on the line about how Obama did such a GREAT job of handling the “disaster” and, unlike George Bush, all of the looting and bad behavior was avoided.

BUSINESS INSIDER??? Consider the source . . .

Ah, the consequences of effectively no (legal) gun ownership.

“and [New Orleans] police department mutiny,”

And let’s not forget the police department looting. I’m sure many here remember the video of the two NOLA cops helping loot a Wal-Mart, while ignoring what was going on around them as the store was being picked clean.

As long as the looters aren’t smoking or drinking 32 oz Slurpees it shouldn’t be of any concern to Bloomie.

Sounds like the writer is hoping that there will be looting.
There won't be any where I am.
Almost everyone here is armed.

"No reports of looting or Hurricane Sandy-related crimes have been reported yet but that doesn't mean we won't see some soon."

The last four years have been one "maybe" after another .. one "it has to hasppen right now" after another .. one "it isn't but we'd better prepare anyway" after another.

I'd LOVE to go back to elementary school just to hear and experience positive fact again ...

"One and one is TWO ? ... really ?!"

Not going to happen. There will be opportunistic burglaries, I’m sure - but there will not be crowds of miscreants smashing into drugstores and electronics stores and carting everything off.

Looting is a way of life, and ANY excuse is good enough.

The State-Run-Media will play up the "poor people trying to provide for their families" crap, when the "families" have no identified fathers, and they live on welfare, food stamps, and Obama Money (from his Stash), anyway.

As I said, look for Debit Cards and EBT's to be flowin' freely to Harlem, Queens, and The Bronx, using Sandy as an excuse for that "walkin' around money".
