With respect to the hearing impaired, this is over-the-top political correctness run amok. Most if not all deaf viewers have closed-captioning.
Liberals have them front and center. Christie, on the other hand, just delivered his message and got on with it.
LOL, the look on Bloombergs face says it all.
She’s the only reason we watch a Bloomberg presser.
Sign language interpreters often use extreme facial expression. It’s a part of communication.
Cute girl (at least to this old phart).
Quite talented at what she does.
I have wondered why this is done given that most all deaf folks would have closed captioning turned on.
Funny, yesterday I called my wife to the TV to watch her.
She’s as fast as he can talk too. Fascinating.
Right. I was going to say that.
From my experience, deaf people are very, very good at lip reading and hence the reason you see coaches on sidelines with the card in front of their face and catchers and pitchers covering their faces when they talk. I suppose in a large room it may be helpful, but there is no need for the person to be standing right next to the speaker.
Bloomberg has a new girlfriend?
If she was in Saudi Arabia doing the interpreting of the Saudi king she’d have to wear a burka which would bring down the expressiveness factor down a few notches.
It is so bizarre to watch these interpreters. Very distracting.
I would too, LOL.
LOL ... back in the day when SNL was funny!
Lending attitude and expression to signing is part of the language. Some speakers and some signers are more expressive than others but it’s not upstaging anyone. Closed captioning is not the same as being spoken to in your language nor is it the same for signing.
cuter than the Obama ad girl
