Obama will be in Washington to "monitor the response to Hurricane Sandy and ensure that all available federal resources continue to be provided to support ongoing state and local recovery efforts," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.
"As a result, the president will not participate in the campaign events that had been scheduled in Ohio tomorrow."
Obama had already skipped political events on Monday and Tuesday to be in Washington for the storm and its aftermath.
Obama held a video-teleconference in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday about the storm with top members of his team, including Vice President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and Craig Fugate, the heads of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"During the briefing the president expressed his concern for those impacted by the storm, as well as the heroic first responders who are selflessly putting themselves in harm's way to protect members of their communities," the White House said in a statement.

I ain't selflessly putting myself in harm's way until the lightening quits striking ... idiots like Plugs and Big Sis are back on their leashes ... and I can get a break from all my telephone fund raising.
The “Rose Garden” strategy.
All you have to do is look presidential - and if you’re the President, you already have a built-in advantage that no challenger can command.
Obama’s an idiot. This is all Bush’s fault!
Since we are talking hurricane politics, consider that the worst hit thus far are all blue states: NJ, NY, DE, MD, CT.
Electoral effect on Romney: Near zero.
Two swing states (VA, PA) have been affected, at least residually, in their blue areas (northern VA, greater Philly). This could affect turnout and certainly has affected early voting.
Electoral effect on Obama: potentially decisive in a bad way.
Well it could be true, but this is a death spasm move. Nothing has worked, nothing will work, so Obama's team just wants to run out the clock. I think the internals have got to be awful and the early reults are awful. He is looking at a blowout and is mailing it in. The long knives are coming out, Rush talked about it today. The true beleivers like the Kos Kids and the Chicago left are beginning to grumble, that Obama does not really want it. Obama sees Ohio as a goner, Iowa,NH, Nevada, Florida, NC, Va and it looks bleak in Wis, Michigan and Pa. Its over and has been over.
Yeah, that strategy worked REAL WELL for Carter.
Another day of Obama pretending to work. More than likely he’s in the Oval Office watching episodes of “Homeland.”
Obama’s disaster plan:
How can I look best here? Oh, and if others get help, I guess that’s okay.
BS. He just wants to stay home, sleep late, watch the View and his favorite soaps, look at himself in the mirror, and go back to bed.
I’m sick of these campaign suspensions, even though this time it helps the guy I marginally prefer. Are we going to have them every election cycle now? How long until we forget about Katrina, which wasn’t the big national event they made it out to be anyway?
He, or Ann, can have a backdrop of supplies being handed out and what services are being set up and where. The MSM can call it political all they want - it won't work.
Rush just said 0 is actually gathering with lawyers to strategize "the situation" while taking time off the campaign. Ha!
This worked well for McCain in 2008!
During the briefing the president expressed his concern as to how the hell he could be expected to keep the ball out of the rough with all that goddamned wind.
It’s a sham. If it wasn’t election time, he’d be on vacation!
> the heroic first responders
None of whom are federal government agents.
Go back to the links, Barry.
He sees he’s losing, so back to the Rahm playbook: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Every day we see him for what he is: a fraud.
Me thinks 0bama’s second term had been cancelled...tee hee.
Me thinks 0bama’s second term has been cancelled...tee hee.
yep...this is his election excuse, it was an act of “mother nature”....then continue to whine for the next 10 years.
But he couldn’t even stay in the situation room for 3 hours to ‘oversee’ or order any rescue attempt for an American Ambassador, his assistant, 2 navy seals and 33 some odd other people.
Is he trying to force Romney to follow suit? Obama gains nothing by not campaigning - but he certainly gains if Romney is forced to stop campaigning so as not to look “callous.”
the idiots are telling victims (millions of whom are without power) to get their relief information from the internet.
Everything Obama says and does is political even if it’s making a decision “not to be political”.
He’s doing his job?
And here we go as predicted.. the narrative of how our “Great Reader” takes charge in a crisis.
Maybe the dems should have kept God in the platform. Oh that’s right ahem they did. I’m sure God appreciated it.
The biggest benefit of Sandy for Obama is it gives him a convenient excuse to hide from Benghazi questions while pretending to be President. He’ll milk as close to election day as possible.
"Y'all keep telling everyone what a great and important job I'm doing. I'm gonna go back and watch some more gay porn..."
"This is a real drag! Can't I just go back to my fawning idiot crowds or golf or...pretty much anything else? It's not like I'm responsible for this storm's damage!"
....he needs the excuse to lose
EXACTLY!! Same thought! Worked real good for McCain and the dude was a Senator! He bombed! But truth be told, we were sitting on needles and pins waiting for the OCT surprise to be dropped sometime this week from the RATS...it saddens me that it was Mother Nature you dropped the bomb and only God knows if it will work to Obumbler’s advantage. PRAY, pray and pray some more and GTVO!
You read my mind.
But, we will see Zero show up with his entourage in EVERYBODY's Way so he can get photo ops!
Well OBummer’s concern for storm damage is a hell of a lot more than he showed for his Benghazi staff, who he betrayed.
Nah, "Home Shopping Network"...
I think he’s trying to un-ring the Benghazi bell.......which he can’t.
I will be surprised if I am wrong about this -
0bama’s reputation is built in long hence, and no amount of “pretending he is president” now is going to make a whit of difference to voters. Though -bama, Axlerod, and crew are now reduced to gambling that the effect you are touting will have a useful effect, I believe that something else will occur:
The “base” and “reachable” voters for him who need to constantly be fed hype in order to get out of their comfort zone to vote will lose energy rapidly, just like the “superstorm Sandy” is now barely producing 30mph gusts 20 hours after landfall. Democrats turnout will go down next Tuesday due to this. Those who are voting for R&R, or who are “reachable” by R&Rm will not be affected by any such slowdown. That is due to R&R voters being far more likely to be self starters, and TeaPartiers, and we have been crawling over broken glass ever since we accosted the Senate with phone calls and much more over the 2007 immigration bill. We have not tired, nor will we.
I wager that the result will be a major swing this week toward the whole GOP ticket, at all levels, in every state. Much as the loss of McCain’s electoral position ‘08 is now blamed on his “suspending his campaign” due to the “economic crisis”, the coming ‘12 debacle for the Dems will be blamed on -bama leaving the field, to pretend to be president, leaving the rest of the Dems to drift by themselves. Not even the upcoming film/TV feature that Hollywood and the Dinosaur TV networks are now working with the Whitehouse to produce and air this weekend featuring the fearless exploits of the “storm-battered president” will manage to change it. People will see it as simple pretense.
Pretending to be president.
Too bad for Stevens and Woods that he didn’t bother to even pretend to be president on Sep.11. If he had done so, instead of being a perpetual campaigner and entertainment event attendee, they might still be alive.
He might as well suspend the rest of his stops...he was preaching to the choir and he wasn’t saying anything of value anyway. Big Bird? Binders? Give me a break.

I think most of the damage that can be done on Benghazi has been done. The rest will come out later. Let’s get this thing back to the economy and jobs for the last five days.
At his little presser at the Red Cross today he actually said “America doesn’t leave people behind”.
