Superstorm Sandy has even flooded the Internet.

Popular New York based media blogs The Huffington Post, Gawker, Gizmodo, Mediate and more were inaccessible Tuesday after flooding from superstorm Sandy knocked out web host Datagram's servers Monday night -- along with power to millions of New York, New Jersey and Connectivity residents.

"We are continuing to battle flooding and fiber outages in downtown New York and Connecticut. ... generators are unable pump fuel due to the flooding in the basements," Datagram wrote on its website early Tuesday morning.

I just read on Drudge the President and Fema offered no numbers to call for help when you have in been in this kind of storm. The only thing they offered was go to the internet.

If that doesn’t tell you how little these people care about you; nothing will.

They won't be missed by us but I am sure the DNC doesn't like having it's propaganda machine crippled this close to the election. On top of that, how are the nags at Jezebel going to vent their frustrations at the injustice of the evil white patriarchy without an internet connection?

Dang, you beat me to it. I like to browse their site on occasion. Like all snarky sites, they're good at getting outraged at things that are fairly outrageous, but they're also good at ranting idiotically about trivial matters. It's the latter discussions that are highly entertaining.

Putting data centers in coastal locations is just asking for trouble.

Well - they still have, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, PBS, hundreds of leftist newspapers and perhaps thousands of lefty radio shows to work with.

I'd hardly call them crippled exactly... but, I'm sure they're crying anyway.

Yes. Much better to have them in tornado alley, the snow-belt, somewhere long a fault line or where wild fires are prone to happen.

Really not trying to be snarky, but my point is there is nearly no place in this country that isn’t prone to some sort of natural disaster.

Many smart businesses put their data centers here in Phoenix for just that reason. I manage three of them. There are many more. Nothing but blue skies, solid ground, and plenty of nuke power here. I am not suggesting these media whores move their crap here, that would make too much sense for Liberals and would stink up the place. Let them eat Sand[y] water.

These people were clearly idiots.

I know exactly what you mean. I occasionally pop over there from Jalopnik and the self righteous buffoonery is comical. It would be even more funny except those people are representative of so many morons in this country.

Sh!t, you're right.

*PING* to potentially interested VIFs (Very Important Freepers).

It's right there in the article as plain as day:

"...along with power to millions of New York, New Jersey and Connectivity residents. "

Cheers!

it was about 7 pm and we were gathered around the glow of the flat screen watching and waiting and all at once BINGO FR fired up like it hasn't in years.

The other flat screen, also glowing like an ember, announced "See how dark lower manhattan is ~ ConEd pulled their plug" ~ and true enough they went to bed ~ but we didn't!!!!

MIllions of people elsewhere on the East Coast stayed up to listen to the howling winds.

Those in Delaware, New Jersey and Lon Giland were cowed in terror through that long night.
