Benghazi issue won't go away or be resolved very soon
Los Angeles Times ^ | October 30, 2012 | James Rainey

............The Obama administration has some explaining to do. With four Americans dead overseas, their fellow citizens rightly want to know why they couldn't have been protected. But the answers will not fit neatly, or in time, to make 30-second campaign ads. And there may be new revelations but definitive answers can't be expected before election day.

Of course not. And frankly, not afterwards, either.

If Bambi wins, we'll never hear another word about it. And if Romney wins, he'll just want to be a gentleman and let bygones be bygones so we'll certainly never hear another word about it from him, either.

This is actually something that affects national security, which has been disastrously weakened by Obama, probably precisely with the objective of empowering the Islamics and other forces that hate the US. If not that, then it was his sheer incompetence. Whatever, it should be addressed, but I doubt that it will be.

Obama lucked out with the storm, because it is enabling him to dodge questions for the next few days.

Browsing the net reveals that more and more editorials, commentary and letters to editors are now raising the specter of this scandal and the folly of electing Obama for 4 more years with no answers being given about the murders of our citizens in Benghazi.

If Obama wins, it will utterly vanish.

If Obama loses it will utterly vanish, in the name of bipartisanship.

IF WE LET IT.

From another thread
For those under the mistaken impression that the Wall Street Journal is a conservative publication just because it’s editorial page is conservation, I offer the following:

Listing of both Monday and Tuesday’s stories on Benghazi: (None found)

That’s right. In spite of the revelations over the weekend, no coverage in the news section of the WSJ.

This is consistent with studies that show that the news reporting at the Journal leans farther left than most major papers, even though they disguise it well, and even though the editorial page is one of the best conservative editorial pages in the world.

He's hunkered down, hiding from any questions -- and it's only making the calls for answers louder.

My “Cross-Border Authority” commentary has reached up to Market Ticker.

That’s progress. Next stop, the MSM?

The ACTUAL Issue On Benghazi?

Summed up quite nicely right here: (Western Rifle Shooters, full column)

Every SOF officer and ops officer all the way up has this drummed into his head. We can make Obama respond to this question, even if reporters must shout it at him while he’s doing storm cleanup photo ops. If the reporters KNOW enough to ask the quesion.

That’s why I am shouting all over the internet about CBA.

I can’t believe cross-border authority permission is not one of the top discussion points about Benghazi.

That, and who “set him up” by sending him to Beghazi to meet the Turks on 9-11, with them leaving after dark.

And of course, down the road, was the military rescue-in-progress turned back because Obama actually wanted to make sure the consulate was wiped out? Is that why the spooks at the annex were refused permission to travel the under one mile to intervene? That would connect it all together, but for now, the best focus is on Obama either granting or withholding cross-border authority for the rescue.

Feel free to repost these musings of a long-ago SOF officer anywhere you please. Done.

” IF WE LET IT.”

If Obama wins, we can finish him with this.

If Obama loses, we can DESTROY his memory forever!

Actually, this was the first thing that crossed my mind.

So the woman who ran President George W. Bush’s State Department says, flatly, that this isn't as much of a no-brainer as the attack dogs in her party suggest. “Safety precautions” need to be balanced, she said, with the notion that “you can’t simply keep your diplomats in a bunker.”

What "safety precautions"?

The undeniable fact is that the lack of security provided by the Obama administration for the ambassador in Al-Quaeda-infested Benghazi made Stevens and his associates prime targets for exactly what happened.

And if the info we are receiving about the timeline is correct (7 hour siege) it's indefensible that no military assistance was dispatched.

There's no getting around it - Obama and his administration are responsible for this deadly debacle on multiple levels.

Over my dead body this fiasco will disappear. No matter who is elected if I have to become the next Cindy Shehan of the right wing.

People must realize that the government cannot run ruff shod over it’s citizens and let our sons and daughters die because of a politician’s inaction and stupidity. I will not let this go.

AND why was he enticed/ordered/invited to Benghazi on September 11 of all days knowing there was no security, knowing he was on a hit list? What was so urgent that he simply had to be there right at that time?

They’re going to say, “The type of country that puts the PREVIOUS administration on trial —that is the THIRD WORLD, and we are NOT the third world, gentlemen.....”

Both sides of the aisle wil say that, and people like McCain et al will chuckle knowingly.

And especially loud from the conservative side will be, “To pursue this is UNDIGNIFIED...!”

Lastly countryclub Republicans will say, “We’re now in charge and these are the people we now have TO WORK WITH...”

SO:

On the one hand if gayMuzzie wins, he’ll put all his enemies in jail. On the other hand if he loses then the countryclub Republicans will be tripping alllll over themselves to make question about Bengazi GO AWAY —they want to attend cocktail parties and be in charge of chairmanships and have the media LIKE THEM.

Those SEALS died and the DC Leadership will want make it go away —we’ll get some great books and maybe a movie. And a lot of people including important libs will not want to be associated with gayMuzzie cuz they KNOW what he did.

I'm betting that 0bama is hoping to drag this out until it is somewhat of a non-issue. This is what he seems to have done with Fast and Furious, but we MUST NOT let him get away with it!

Good men died while he watched and not only did nothing, HE KEPT OTHERS FROM TRYING TO SAVE THEM!

I made it sound like I’m going to be quiet about it, too, but that’s wrong —I’m sitting in a very crowded cafe in a VERY liberal city and I’m wearing a T-shirt that says, “F*CK OBAMA...!”

I’m serious.

And I’m wearing that shirt every day until after the election.

And I have another custom made one arriving tomorrow that says, “You left those men to DIE..!” and it has an Obama sihouette on it.

Hey! Rainey! Why was your President using US resources to overthrow the governments in Libya, Egypt and Syria? Look at illinoispaytoplay.com. Your guy is just a grifter. He’s been starting wars to make money off them. That’s Crimes Against Humanity stuff. That’s the mud you threw at Bush, and it turns out it’s the Democrats doing it. Your paper has been endorsing and covering for a dirty little Democrat grifter. That’s what happens when journalists pick sides. Your side takes advantage of you. Welcome to reality! Obama played you like a sucker.
