On Monday evening Mitt Romney cancelled all campaign events through today and is even holding a distaster relief event in Ohio to help those who were crushed by Hurricane Sandy last night. President Obama also cancelled campaign events and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said on Air Force one that this "wasn't a time for politics" and that people should focus on responding to the storm. But, Hurricane Sandy wasn't going to stop First Lady Michelle Obama from playing politics yesterday. She sent the following email to supporters in North Carolina and Virginia.
From: Michelle Obama Subject: I know we've asked a lot of you, but we're almost there To: Date: Monday, October 29, 2012, 7:44 PM
There's still time to meet Barack and get two of the best seats in the house on Election Night. If you make a donation today, you'll be automatically entered to join us in Chicago for his big speech.
You'll be right in the middle of all the action on Election Night, and if Barack wins, you'll know you played an important part in making that happen and moving our country forward.
We'll fly you and a guest to Chicago, put you up in a hotel, and make sure you're right up front when Barack gives his speech.
What he'll say that night depends entirely on what we do right now.
I don't have to tell you, this election is close.
Barack needs you. Please chip in $5 or whatever you can today:
I know we ask a lot of you. Thank you for everything -- we're almost there.
4 dead in Bengahzi and the campaign rolls on, is this event any different? THE 4 DEAD CAN’T VOTE ON TUESDAY those effected in the tragedy can.
Why isn’t the “Vacation Queen” suggesting rather that these “folks” send their $5 donations to disaster relief instead of into her coffers? “Let them eat cake!” as is typical of the Queen.
First lady (snort) is the best gig she has ever had, best gig she ever will have. She has money, power, nice things around her, protection 24-7, deference - well people at least pretend to give a da## what she says/does/thinks... Of course she will do or say anything to keep it going. Nothing is of the table with the people in power now. Nothing.
Ruling by polls!!!
She’s broadly hinting that donating to the campaign will enable Barack to win the election. Talking about whether he will give a victory speech or a concession speech.
Waaahhh! I’m gonna lose my airplane! How will Mooch Sr, the mini-mooches and me get to our vacatiuons?
Maybe she really wants Obama to win so she can leave him in Washington and move to Hawaii.
