Four years after backing Obama, The Telegraph endorses Mitt Romney for president

By ERIN PLACE

HUDSON – Four years after endorsing then-Sen. Barack Obama for president, The Telegraph of Nashua has backed the president’s Republican opponent former Gov. Mitt Romney.

The newspaper’s editorial board said it did not come to this decision lightly. In Wednesday’s editorial on the endorsement of the former Massachusetts governor, it is revealed there were “several hours of spirited debate” regarding the endorsement.

In January, The Telegraph endorsed Romney as the GOP candidate.

Good new bump... I’m still waiting to see how the top 20 newspapers in the country go - my guess is ‘Obama’... Still, it’s nice to know some of the smaller papers aren’t as biased.

Would like to see new polling from NH - I’ve been pretty high on Romney’s chances there, but the last two polls released have been from PPP (strong Obama lean this cycle) and “New England College”. Rasmussen had Romney +2 on 10/23.

I would be interested in seeing a count: Number of papers endorsing each candidate plus a count of how many switched party this election cycle. I have heard of papers that endorsed Obama last time but are endorsing Romney this time. But I haven’t heard of any that endorsed McCain last time yet are endorsing Obama now.

This is actually big news for Romney in NH. The Telegraph is very much a liberal rag. This is NOT the Union Leader.
This would be like if the Boston Globe or Washington Post endorsed Mitt Romney.

When my wife sent me this a couple hours ago , I thought it was a joke. I responded back to her: “Sure , and did I miss that Hell frozen over too?”
