Hurricane Sandy has moved on but the damage remains. The following picture of Times Square posted on Gizmodo caught my eye. Fortunately, it does not look real. Lights should not be on and there would be debris everywhere.
However, the Metra chairman did say water was "literally up to the ceiling" at one downtown station, so take this image and use your imagination, adding dead rats, debris, and whatever else suits your fancy.
Bloomberg reports the

lol! Wouldn’t it now.
Ya think?
That's gotta be the cleanest flood water since the Great Flood.
That “photo” is from a movie; I saw it posted online -before- Sandy hit.
I think the picture was on Drudge the other day with the headline Photoshop
A NY Transportation official on the news last night said about 55 miles of subway lines had some flooding, of a total of 660 miles of lines.
Damage is bad, but not total.
the white ones do..
Of course it’s fake
CHUDs?
Water does a lot of damage. If they think that all they have to do is pump out the water and everything will be good to go, they are going to be very disappointed.
I use to repair electronic equipment. Once wet there is little hope. In most cases the best bet is to replace it.
But if the past is any indication they will try a quick (cheap) fix and hope nothing bad happens. I think something bad is going to happen down the road as corrosion sets in.
High Thick Dikes work. duhhhhh
With the technology to show the fakes from the real shots, you’d think that it wouldn’t be too difficult to actually show Obama’s “birth certificate” is fake using that same technology. Of course, they don’t want to muddy the water if it will hurt his royal highness. No, that would be racist.
Parts of the system are fine and will be running this week, a few sections are gonna take some more work.
With all of the electrical infrastructure *within the walls* of the subway system flooded with corrosive salt water and then then the rest of the electrical equipment soaked with the same it won’t surprise me if it is a year or maybe two before 100% of service is restored to all of the underground mass transit services (Subway, Long Island RR, PATH, Amtrak, etc.)
It’s not only about the water. It’s about the salt.
Betting a fake photo, too, but could someone have let the water in to create a disaster for the great Hussein to save?
Doesn't have to be drained entirely, just put some of these in the subways and they're good to go.
thanks - that’s a cool link!
Looks like it was photoshoped. Those lights cannot survived being flooded.
Literally, I hate people who use “literally.”
