It Wasn’t Just Four Americans Abandoned in Benghazi
PJ Media ^ | October 31, 2012 | Bob Owens

Posted on 10/31/2012 2:36:06 PM PDT by jazusamo

Up to 32 Americans were denied military assistance at the consulate and CIA safe house.

The few media that are covering the abandonment of Americans in Benghazi have focused — and not without merit — on the four Americans that perished over the course of the seven-hour battle.

Ambassador Chris Stevens and diplomat Sean Smith were not the only Americans in the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, however, a fact some of us have lost sight of in our focus on the dead. Nor were Glen Doherty and Ty Woods the only casualties among the forces that disobeyed orders from the Obama administration not to rescue the consulate staff.

When terrorists surrounded the consulate at approximately 8:00 p.m. Benghazi time with 150 men and “technicals” — pickup trucks with heavy machine guns, bearing the logo of Ansar al-Shariah — Stevens and Smith were part of a larger American delegation numbering somewhere between 7-24.

We’re forced to say “approximately” because it has been difficult to determine through media accounts the exact number of Americans inside the consulate.

We do know that at least three other consulate staff members were seriously injured enough in the initial attack that they were treated at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. Two more consulate staff members were apparently injured in the attack on the CIA safe house which also killed Glen Doherty and Ty Woods.

What we can be sure of is that as the consulate was under fire from a large terrorist force, the lives of a minimum of seven American diplomats were put at risk as President Barack Obama allegedly watched the attack live in the White House Situation Room via the satellite video link to an unarmed Predator drone circling overhead.

We now know that the small CIA force on a separate mission, occupying a safe house a mile away, called in to their superiors for reinforcements. We know that this force twice asked for permission to attempt a rescue mission. We know that they were twice told to “stand down.”

Ty Woods, a former SEAL who was part of the CIA force in Benghazi, was among those in this team of operators who disobeyed their orders and put honor over political cowardice to carry out a rescue mission to evacuate the survivors.

Once the consulate staff had been evacuated back to the safe house, they were protected by Woods’ local CIA team, the eight-man CIA team that had flown in from Tripoli, and a force of Libyans that had driven Doherty and the rest of his team from the airport and which would cover the extraction.

We don’t know the exact breakdown of which Americans belonged to each specific group beyond the size of the eight-man team to which Doherty belonged, but the total number of Americans in the CIA safe house was at least 24, and may have been as high as 32 when the attack on that position began.

Once again, at least one Predator drone was overhead, transmitting video of the attack in real time to the White House and State Department for at least part of the time.

We know that CIA operators defending the site “lased” a terrorist mortar crew more than six hours into the attack. Military experts not on-site have asserted (but we cannot confirm) that the mortar team appears to have been targeted with a ground laser target designator (GLTD). The GLTD can direct laser-guided munitions from Predator drones, AC-130 and MC-130 airborne gunships, such as the one that a Fox News sources may have been referring to with a reference to repeated requests for supporting fore from a “Spectre.”

A former military fighter pilot tells PJ Media that if a GTLD was used, it can provide exact GPS coordinates for precision guided bombs, called JDAMS, carried by Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft which could have been on-site over Benghazi within an hour of the initial assault, and which could have been dropped with little threat of collateral damage and very low risk to the aircraft itself, since they can be dropped from stand-off distances.

The White House has not been forth-coming in explaining why at least seven American diplomats were abandoned in the Benghazi consulate to die while the President allegedly watched video of the attack.

The White House has refused to explain why they denied close air support to two dozen or more Americans and additional government forces at the CIA safe house who were under mortar fire, had the mortar team fixed with a laser, and which repeatedly called for the terrorist position to be struck.

American lives were abandoned while a sitting U.S. President allegedly watched.

The American people deserve to know why, before the 2012 election.

Where does the info that Doherty was not already at the safe house come from?

There were five Americans at the consulate. Three black security personnel, the ambassador, and Sean Smith.

A team of 8 flew in from Tripoli. There were 37 evacuated from Benghazi. So there were 24 people at the safe house? That’s a lot of spies in one location.

What we can be sure of is that as the consulate was under fire from a large terrorist force

I've seen the photos of burned out buildings but why haven't I seen photo's consistent with the aftermath of a firefight?

They were not serving in the military when this happened. Does the CIA have an award for contractors who do not work directly for the agency? What about the others who did not die? We have spies all over the world, and they do their jobs knowing it is not likely they will ever be acknowledged or rewarded for their service. They also serve with the knowledge that the powers that be might let them die.

I keep wondering, where have the others who were rescued disappeared to? Where have they been put?

In this day and age, if someone’s puppy dog is saved from a mud puddle the interviews are non-stop.

Charles Woods said he got a message from one of them. Other than that, nothing.

Thus far it looks like that’s one thing Obama hasn’t lied about.

There is a memorial wall at the CIA but contractors probably do not get their name on it.

I doubt we’ll get any answers until one of the high ups Obama has surrounded himself with comes out and tells the truth, Obama sure isn’t going to.

The coverup here is about the others who were in Benghazi, and the reason they were there to begin with.

Obama armed a bunch of militias that were basically Al Queda. They were trying to get a bunch of MANPADS back.

We’re focused on the wrong thing. Focus on what those people were doing there to begin with and why Obama would let them die rather than reveal their mission.

There are 24 people that can shed light upon the events in Benghazi. Someone is going to tell the truth.

I've been wondering about all the other Americans who were in the consulate or the safe house, also, and have posted about that here. They might be a few hundred feet under some mountain in one of those nuclear armageddon shelters, for their own protection, of course.

It's also odd that the conservative talkers and others in alternative media are saying little about them, at least that I've heard. I guess there just aren't many people giving any thought to that peculiar part of the Benghazi story. Maybe someone with podium will start asking questions soon.

In this day and age, if someone’s puppy dog is saved from a mud puddle the interviews are non-stop.

I've asked this over and over and have even resorted to sending emails to the reporters at FOX asking them if they had tried to find out where all these people who were rescued are and why no one knows anything about there conditions or whereabouts.

It appears that they have disappeared off the face of the earth and are being kept somewhere (?) so as to keep them from speaking to the media; not that apparently any media is making any effort to locate and interview them.

So, yet something else about this situation which stinks to high heaven.

One of them was in Walter Reed..I lost the post with his name. Chances are that one of these people is known to a Freeper. We need to get some names out for Fox or a Freeper to contact.
I’m sure that regular employees of the CIA or State Dept don’t want to talk on the record because it would threaten their career. The contract people who were injured loose their jobs..so they might talk.

What Chuckie did in front of cameras is irrelevant. One stipulation for consideration is that you be active duty military at the time of the action. The former SEALs acted bravely and selflessly but there are other methods of honoring them.

An interesting note on Obama and the abandonment issue. His father abandoned him, then his mother abandoned his second father and abandoned him when she handed him off to the grandparents, who then abandonded him to Frank Marshall Davis. No wonder that abandonment feels natural to him, it is his life story.

I think that Benghazi was just a message. Somebody was telling the American people, “Take a look at what your President is doing in the Middle East”. Turns out, Obama is just a dirty little Democrat grifter setting the Middle East on fire so him and his buddies can make some serious cash rebuilding things in the Middle East. Look at illinoispaytoplay.com
People are being killed for his personal profit.

Unfortunately the two EX-SEALS were retired and NOT in the militaty. They were working for a private security company under contract to the CIA.

Since they were not active duty servicemen they are not eligible for the Congressional Medal of Honor. Likewise, since they were ‘actively’ retired and out of any of our armed forces thay again are not eligible.

There is however a high civilian award that they are eligible for and I believt that they should be awarded those medals.

IF they were eligible for the CMOH I would certainly support them for it.

Even though they were not on active duty they fully displayed their military training and they certainly were true heroes.
