Television ads aside, Omahans might be feeling a little neglected these days as the presidential campaigns bear down with a laser focus on the remaining handful of swing states.
Just across the river, Iowans have been awash in campaign rallies with the candidates themselves and top-level surrogates such as former President Bill Clinton.
Ohio, seen as ground zero, has gotten special attention. Even Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Neb., flew to the Buckeye State to stump for Republican Mitt Romney last month.

The Media in this State(Nebraska) ALWAYS will try to find a “Nebraska Connection” for EVERTHING. It gets SICKENING after awhile.

They keep threatening that the Ds will get one of NE’s votes every election. But have the demographics of Omaha changed that drastically since ‘08? I think not. NE will go 100% for Romney. Ds and media can dream on. Also I don’t think the election is coming down to a single electoral vote either. Every plausible scenario I’ve come up with the least Romney gets in a win is 273.
One of the pleasant surprises of this election cycle is the apparent unwillingness of Cornhuskers to resurrect Bob Kerrey, the one with the second “e.” At one time Cornhuskers would have engaged in fisticuffs on the merits of Kerrey.
The OWH has always had a very self important attitude.
