NBC will air a concert featuring singers Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Christina Aguilera on Friday to benefit victims of monster storm Sandy, which devastated parts of the U.S. Northeast with flooding and winds this week.

The special will be broadcast on the networks of NBC Universal, and money collected from the program will be donated to the American Red Cross relief efforts, NBC said on its website.

The benefit concert, titled "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," will be hosted by Today show anchor Matt Lauer, the TV network said. Along with Springsteen, whose songs often center on his upbringing on the New Jersey shore, most of the performers are from areas hard-hit by the storm.

NBC: bowing to Obama since 2008. No one can tell me this isn't going to turn into one giant GOTV ad for the as Kenyan communist.

It’s amazing how fast this could happen. I’m sure it will be an Obama love-fest...and I won’t be surprised if he has a live message in the middle of it.

If the name Obama is mentioned by anyone on stage, whatever careers they have left will be destroyed. No one wants to hear about Obama, liberals don’t give their own money and Conservatives will give it to the church and other organizations.

In other words, this will be a bust.

First I’d like to see how much of their own income they donate, including the people at the Nothing But Communism network.

I live in the NW, but I’m going to bet that folks that live in the South East must be just beside themselves in the pitty party, whining bs, that is coming out of this Cat 1 storm, tidal surge.

Storms happen, and people that live right next to an ocean.... should keep in mind that if you go too near the water, you get wet.

No offense to anyone that is suffering in the NE, but gee whiz, all over this country we have natural disasters, and the media now is going to turn this into some sensational over the top event.

If they really cared they would pony up 10 million each.

I was without electricity for a week a year ago. And it was snow—not water. It was freakin cold in my house.

Where was freakin’ Bon jovi then?

If they really wanted to help, they could do it after the election, and have bigger stars.

Gosh, I hope this brings in ^at least^ as much funding as the 24-hour NBC telethion for New Orleans after Katrina.

I still remember the performances by the Ditsy Chix and Cheryl Crowe, don’t you?

(NBC couldn’t be more obvious if they stood with their pants around their ankles and holding a ruler.)

You can bet I’ll be watching Alabama-LSU instead. Also, the places damaged by the storm are well-off financially, I’m sure they have insurance. They can rebuild themselves without my help.

And Springsteen sucks anyway. Never liked his music.

Democrats are never going to see this for what it is, Obama grandstanding... But Bloomberg did, and rightly asked Obama to kindly stay out of the way, because they didn’t need the hassles, bs getting in the way.

I agree with you though, that Independent voters, and the undecided, might find this grandstanding a bit off putting, and turn some voters away from him. And, all it takes is one gaffe, or over the top moment, to become pivotal. Obama has more to lose than gain from dancing around the NE coast...

What about the fires we had in the West this year....or the droughts in the Mid West? MSM paid minor lip service to it but where was Bon Jovi or Bruce Springsteen then? Phony bastards.

All of my disaster relief donations go through the Salvation Army.

No PC crap, the $$ goes where it needed.

But here in Miami, the “journalists” told us Bloomberg and BO *agreed* a visit wouldn’t be prudent.
