True, and sometimes travel is last minute. Nothing like being told at 3:00pm to fly out first thing the next day and come back when it’s fixed.

I want everyone to calm down. If you send in the application, they will send you an absentee ballot, and keep track of that. I think we’ll know before we go to bed Tuesday night - or early Wednesday morning. Thankfully, this time we have a Republican SOS. If Strickland and his ilk were still in office - then I would worry.

Yep, the left has polarized everyone as much as they possibly can. Racial division is worse than I can ever remember even reading about.
And I know for certain that leftists would love nothing more than to see the gov’t “crack down” on people who oppose them.

This is what I’m saying. I wonder if people read the whole article:

Explains Blackwell: “So they go to the polls and say, ‘I want my ballot.’ And [poll workers] say, ‘Oh, we see you applied for an absentee ballot.’ The voter says, ‘Oh, I changed my mind.’ And they say, ‘That’s well and good, but we have to guarantee that you don’t vote twice. You have to fill out a provisional ballot.’

This only applies if one requests an absentee ballot and didn’t return it. They have a record of who requested one. Stop the hysteria! We have to show ID to vote in OH - at least I’ve always had to for all the years I’ve voted.

Of Course it on purpose. This gives Democrats 10 days to figure out how many votes they need to beat Romney, then produce them.

Maybe it’s time for Civil unrest when they are dead in your face with a farce like this.

With the presidential election expected to hinge on Ohio,

No presidential race hinges on a single state.

That is not the way the article reads. I read this

“Anyone who is sent an absentee ballot — including those who do not complete it and mail it in — and later shows up at the polls on Election Day to cast their ballot in person will be instructed to instead complete a provisional ballot.”

Is it wrong and co you have a link to something that would prove it?

Never mind, I see that it was just APPLICATIONS for absentee ballots that were sent out, and that only 350,000 of those who had requested absentee ballots had not sent the ballots back in.

why would the moronic SOS push for this unnecessary complicated idiocy?
All to “reduce long lines”?
Yet people can camp overnight for the latest Iphone or “Black Friday” deals. Pathetic.

Residents of Ohio who applied for an absentee ballot ...

ONCE YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT, YOU MUST EITHER GET IT TO THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS OR VOTE BY PROVISIONAL BALLOT.

If you never received the ballot, you should go tomorrow, Friday, November 2, 2012, to your county board of elections and find out what you can do, UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN that you know what to do from information available in the newspapers / your local library / you had good luck reaching the county board of elections on the phone.

If you did not already send in your ballot via U.S.P.S., then you may hand deliver your ballot to your county board of elections.

If you still wish to mail your absentee ballot, it will require 65 CENTS U.S. postage and must be postmarked no later than NOVEMBER 5, 2012 and received by your county board of elections by November 16, 2012. YOU CANNOT USE A POSTAGE METER “STAMP.”

YOU MAY NOT RETURN YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT TO A POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY.

If you do not mail nor hand deliver your absentee ballot to your county board of elections, and you still wish to vote, you MUST vote using the provisional system at your polling place on the day of elections, November 6, 2012.

To vote a provisional ballot at your polling place, you will need to bring along your Ohio driver’s license or a copy of a current (within the last 12 months) utility bill, bank statement, government check, military ID, paycheck or other government document (other than a voter registration notification mailed to you by your county board of elections) that SHOWS YOUR NAME AND CURRENT ADDRESS.

YEAH, now you get it:

ONCE YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT, YOU MUST EITHER GET IT TO THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS OR VOTE BY PROVISIONAL BALLOT.

Ohio had a Dem SoS Soros disciple from 07-11. She ran for Senate and lost the Ohio D primary.
The current SoS is Republican Jon Husted.
Ohio also has a Republican governor John Kasich.

I’m not too worried about Ohio being Frankenated.
