Isn’t this the only state Reagan lost in 1984?

Yes, because Mondale was from Minnesota.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of that. Things are looking pretty bad for Obama.

38 percent of respondents identified themselves as Democrat, 33 percent Republican and 29 percent independent or other

That’s a lot of independents up for grabs.

“Yes, because Mondale was from Minnesota.”

And because Reagan had a heart.

It's the state that didn't vote for Reagan, made Jesse Ventura a governor, and made Al Franken a Senator. They gave us the baby-killers Burger and Blackmun. It's the home of Keith Ellison.

The Vikings will never win a Super Bowl. That's their punishment.

There must be something in the water up there. Isn’t that also where a bunch of “Skinnies” moved to?

I realize I was a little hard on Minnesota. So, here are some things I like (in no particular order):

1. Peanuts (the comic strip)

2. Some of Prince's music.

3. Michelle Bachmann

4. Lino Rulli

5. Mystery Science Theater 3000

7. Kevin McHale

Don't forget Minnesota also gave us Hubert Humphrey and gave George McGovern his "education."

It is not uncommon for the Strib to overestimate RAT support by 10%.

Given the source, this is a very interesting development.

Jesse was elected because for once the number of protest votes plus the youth vote all added up. If I recall our choice was baby humphrey who seemed to think he could ride daddy’s coattails... and umm can’t remember the republican.... also a huge disappointment to have as a choice. same old uninspiring, it’s my turn type of thing (i think, it’s been awhile) since I wasn’t impressed by those two so protested...so did many others, in some ways it was quite amusing to listen to all the what went wrongs, unfortunately they really don’t get it, lol)

So while I would like my vote for R/R to actually help in in the electoral college I don’t think it will, it’ll probably go to that other guy :(

BUT if enough of my fellow Minnesotans protest as they did back when Jesse actually won, well that would be excellent.

I have spoken with others and this election is very decided. Very few signs for presidential election, some for state races but even those are much less then other years. One person in the work place finally told the democrat workers that the next person to mention the election would get water squirted at them, lol, all because those supporting the demo side of things insisted on nagging constantly at another co worker who disagreed and just needed to be educated because that worker could only be voting republican because they were ignorant and misinformed.

I do wish this whole thing was over. it’s been going on to long......We actually have a very nasty co commissioner race going on here in SE MN. Should be an interesting night!

And hopefully R/R will win!
