Now Or Never Political Action Committee will spend $800,000 on television ads for Republican Todd Akin, who is campaigning against incumbent Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, The Hill reports.
The groups ad asks voters who dont agree with everything he says to back Akin anyway, and it focuses on winning Senate control and defeating McCaskill.
In the Senate, Akin will vote for Romneys policies to get Americans working again, according to the ad. Claire McCaskill would fight Romney every step of the way. To avoid Washington gridlock and get this country back to work, our best choice is Todd Akin.

b b b but he said something stupid, everyone knows conservatives need to run for the hills if one of our own does that! /s
What are the latest poll in Akin country?
Corrupt McCaskill should go down in 5 days. :-)
Newt Gingrich: “If having made a mistake was grounds for getting off the ticket, Joe Biden would have to resign once a week”
The Kansas City Red Star published a poll with a 2 pt lead for McCaskill a couple of days ago. No doubt skewed like the rest of the media polls. Not looking good for her.
tied
McCaskill has outspent him 10 to 1 on political ads and it is still a dead heat.
Amen to whoever added this -—> suckitrinofreepers
close Obamacare supporters
Good news! And, God bless Newt for campaigning for Akin!!
One went buh bye about 2 days ago. ;^)

Yeah, and if you fire everyone from politics who ever said something stupid or wrong (paging Joe Biden), Washington DC would be a ghost town.
According to Politico.com, Larry Sabato of the University of Virgina predicts the Senate will still be in the hands of the Democrats after Tuesday. Republicans need a net gain of four seats to take the majority away from the Democrats. Sabato predicts a win for McCaskill.
But Akin is not ready to end his fight. In a last minute push before Tuesdays election, Akin and the Missouri Republican Party are spending $700,000 in television ads. A conservative PAC, Now or Never, tells CBS News it is spending $800,000 to support Akin. The group previously supported one of Akins primary challengers.
Yeah, you’re right, but all the same, Akin and for that matter, Mourdock as well were both dumber than a box of rocks to go where they did. It speaks to their fitness for office that the are not circumspect in choosing their words.
I’m voting for him. I pray many others do as well. I can’t stand her lying tongue!
“Akin and for that matter, Mourdock as well were both dumber than a box of rocks to go where they did. It speaks to their fitness for office that the are not circumspect in choosing their words.”
Perhaps you’re right, but then Romney is dumber than two boxes of rocks to continue to maintain that socialized medicine was the right thing for him to push as a governor. It speaks to his fitess for office and he is not very circumspect in continuing to push that line. Nevertheless, I will hold my nose and vote for Romney in order to vote against the Kenyan Fraud.
Pro-Akin ads should state that McCaskill cast the DECIDING vote in favor of BOcare, and she will never vote to repeal.
This will move votes.
Akin has been a great congressman. He voted to repeal Obamacare 30 times while McCaskill voted for it; Akin voted against the Wall St Bailout ..McCaskill for it; Akin has an A rating with the National Rifle Assoc., A pro life rating; opposes the death tax and supports a balanced budget ammendment.
He is NOT dumb. He has a degree in engineering which is no easy task. He also has a degree in divinity which Algore could not even do..lol
GO AKIN
Glad to hear this PAC is stepping up to support Akin. I think Akin will take this race.
Thanks, Fred.
Yeah, I had fun Zoting Delhi that day. :-)
The point is that both Akin and Murdouck were not sufficiently prepared for the ONLY issue that would be used to sink them. Every possible Q and A regarding abortion should have been practiced down to tedium.
If you care about the pro-life cause, you do your homework.
It is simply INEXCUSABLE that both Akin and Murdouck jeopardized these otherwise safe senate seats.
So vote for McCaskill then. Or sit that race out. But at least be honest about it. Either course supports Obama and that is what’s really inexcuseable.
Sabato is wacked out. He's gonna be in total meltdown when the numbers start coming in election night. Not only will we win the tossup Senate seats, we will win some more of the (already in the bag for the dems) seats. This is gonna be HUGE!!
We are in a war against evil right now and we are in it to win. Keep the faith my FRiends.
Darn I missed that action. Wasn't he from Ireland??? My observations from KC inner city to well south is that nobody but a few have signs out for the liberals, Claire and Obama. Obama has not even showed up to help out his old friend Claire this election cycle. She is pretending that she is not a democrat let alone a liberal democrat. I do pray she gets to return to take care of all her section 8 housing acquisitions her dear hubby took advantage of from Obama's stimulus.
There's no Democrats at all running in Indiana. I've seen all the commercials and looked at the adverts. Not a one. I wonder if that side of the ballot will be blank next Tuesday? The Democrat "brand" is on par with dog sh!t this year.
First, I apologize for the multiple posts - kept receiving “timed out” statement.
I genuinely hope Akin and Murdock both win.
I’m just angry - as all conservatives should be — that both candidates were not ready for the most obvious traps that would be used to destroy them.
It is ridiculous - borderline contemptible - that both men were not ready for this trap.
I like it, also have nothing at all against Todd Akin, he really did nothing wrong.
Whatever it takes to win
Akin did plenty wrong. He made an indefensible statement, killed Romney momentum, and refused to easily correct his error by stepping aside.
There are plenty of conservative candidates to replace Akin, but his oversized ego and poor judgement has put control of the US Senate at risk.
Any substitute candidate could easily beat the democrat crook. And any substitute candidate would have united the party behind them.
But no, AKIN put himself as more important than any of that.
You’re still stuck on stupid, aren’t you????
“He has a degree in engineering which is no easy task. He also has a degree in divinity which Algore could not even do”
Well I have an Engineering Degree from one of the best schools in the country, and I am religious, but I would not have ever thought to say the things that got Akin into trouble. Don’t get me wrong, I hope he wins, but he should have been winning in a landslide with McCaskell being the RAT dunce that she is. The fact that he isn’t is his own damned fault, and it was needless and stupid. As they say, the road to ruin is paved with good intentions. Good intentions don’t get you elected, thoughtful campaign oratory does.
I must have been online too long. I saw your post and thought “Oh this would be something good to post on FreeRepublic” then went as far as searching the title which brought me back here. :)
dead heat?
Let’s not hope it stays that way. That’s all we need is to show the RINOs that an election cannot be won without them.
Yeah, and if you fire everyone from politics who ever said something stupid or wrong (paging Joe Biden), Washington DC would be a ghost town.
Maybe you’re on to something.
Go ahead, make me next.
for the record, I’ve never attacked any poster, only Akin because he has earned it with his stubborness and stupidity.
Why should Akin have stepped aside so the establishment could select the candidate they wanted? it would not have been Brunner or Steelman but someone that was not even on the ballot. The voters in MO elected Akin to run against McCaskill and if he had filed the paperwork to withdraw it would have cost him over 200,000 dollars not to mention it would have disenfranchised some military absentee ballots. We followed the process and we have a good conservative candidate running against a full blown liberal. The choice is clear and easy.
Glad you hope he wins but his remark is no worse than Romney defending socialized medicine in Mass. Akin is a smart man that made a gaffe and apologized..the gopE are the ones that jumped the gun in their response.
I would prefer Akin in the senate over McCain, Graham and a slew of other republican senators. Check out his record.
Now Rove should be fired ...his remark was way out there. He deems himself to be the God of the republican party.
You have entirely missed the point. Of course you have not attacked a poster but you HAVE hijacked every thread that sheds a positive light on Todd Akin. When I say you have constantly attacking those FReepers who believe in expressing their CONVERSATIVE view points, I am referring to their support of Todd as a true conservative.
I have yet to read a post from you referring to Todd's conservative credentials. All you say is that he is "stupid" or "someone else would have been much better". You never, once, have said how much better that someone else would be. The fact of the matter is, recent articles from reliable sources have proved that a GOPe endorsed replacement would have given McCaskill an even more boost in ratings.
You have never stated, as many other have, that Akin voted against the stimulus; voted to repeal Obamacare 30 times; Has ab A rating with the National Rifle Association; 100% pro-life; 100% from the American Conservative Union; voted against cash for clunkers; voted against the Wall St Bailout, etc. etc. etc.
Why are you badgering these threads with ONLY negative posts? I since a trend here and a HUGE number of CONSERVATIVE Free Republic members are getting really turned off with your kind of posting.
Think about this, Staytrue. Look back on your history of Akin threads that you Hijacked. Look at you 100% negative posts. READ Todds credentials. I challenge you to post his TRUE CONSERVATIVE background. Oh, yes, I keep forgetting his only "stupid".
Tell that to Karl Rove and Reince Priebus. The difference in this race is not Akin's words but the GOPe's over the top reaction to his words. Even McCaskill's supporters have acknowledged that and are playing some of the GOPe's histrionic reactions in her commercials.
Conservatives over reacted...Save it for Sunday, obviously you are the kind of person that is always right i dont have the time
Look, you are kicking Todd in the groin for one 15 second gaffe. Why are you doing this? McCrackle loves you. You need to use that Engineering Degree for better purposes. We all make mistakes. You don't have it in you to "forgive". Todd admitted his mistake and I forgive him. Can you?
“We all make mistakes. You don’t have it in you to “forgive”. Todd admitted his mistake and I forgive him. Can you?”
It’s not my place to “forgive” Akin. As I said in my post I hope he wins, because we need that seat. I don’t know his past, evidently you think, despite this terrible gaffe he is deserving of the support of the Missouri voters. My comment is general. I am just wondering out loud what’s wrong with some “conservatives” that they haven’t got the good sense to stay away from commenting on matters relating to females and reproduction. My wife is from Las Vegas. We were very hopeful that Sharron Angle would beat Harry Reid, but like Akin, she went off the reservation with some kookie comments and shafted herself. Reid’s son was hit by a truck in his bid to be governor at the same time. So it was Angle who poisoned her own well. As for McCrakle, I can assure you, she doesn’t love me. And I have never done anything to blunt the efforts of Akin to get elected. Tuesday, we will see if he has managed to heal what he did with the voters of Missouri won’t we.
“Tell that to Karl Rove and Reince Priebus. The difference in this race is not Akin’s words but the GOPe’s over the top reaction to his words.”
I am no fan of the GOPe. As a matter of fact, if they manage to screw up this election, I plan to re-register independent. The GOPe went after Akin because they didn’t like him to begin with, and saw an opening to get rid of him when he shot himself in the foot. He should have been a whole lot smarter than his words conveyed. The problem I have with some “conservatives” is that beyond the common bonds of basic conservatism, they have some really odd ideas. That’s how Akin seems to me. Maybe it’s his religion, I don’t know, but you can see the damage he did to himself with people who would, absent his untimely remarks about abortion, have willingly voted for him.
I happened to be watching the Akin interview that Sunday morning and was not taken aback by his notorious comment. I understood Akins words to imply forced rape, as opposed to statutory rape. His words were sadly misconstrued by some people and deliberately distorted by political operatives in efforts to affect the November election.
Todd Akins gaffe was not worthy of destruction of his political career. He did NOT do anything illegal or immoral or malicious. He did NOT deliberately disparage women who were impregnated by rape. And Akins business dealings did NOT make his family rich at the American taxpayers expense.
Claire McCaskills husband, Joe Shepard, made business deals in the Senate dining room, selling tax credits tied to Obamas stimulus money. Businesses affiliated with Shepard have received almost $20 million in federal subsidies for low-income housing developments during his wifes first five years in office. Mccaskills obscured misuse of her office for financial gain is far more offensive than a few misspoken words.
