Crisis Management Experts say Sen. Bob Menendez Prostitution Story Won't Stick

Consultants say Menendez story lacks staying power

The Daily Caller broke a story on the Drudge Report Thursday alleging New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez paid prostitutes for sex during a trip to the Dominican Republic.

According to the story, Menendez agreed to pay two women $500 each for "sex acts." In the end, according to the women, Menendez only doled out $100 each.

It is an "October Surprise," and one that in most circumstances would have damaging effects. But crisis management experts caution this scandal lacks key components necessary to catch fire and push Menendez off the 14-point lead he holds in his Senate race.

"This will not have much impact," says Gene Grabowski, the executive vice president at Levick, a crisis communications firm. "The story in New Jersey right now is about a hurricane, not about a sexual temptress."

So how old were Menendez's "sexual temptresses"?

Temptress? What kind of disgusting misogynist blames the victim of statutory rape?

But of course, it’s the Republicans waging the “War on Women”.

Apparently he did not have the staying power that would warrant a $500 pay out!

Too bad he did not spend the government’s money with the same frugality that he spent his own money!!!

He’s a Democrat. They expect that kind of behavior from Democrats. No one will care.

Now, if this had been a Republican senator...

One difference is media input from ‘crisis management experts’. Whoever the @&$% they are.

Ask Herman Cain

Apples and oranges.

Stories were false for Republican; Result -> Exit from race.

Story is true for dem; Result -> Stay in/ Win Race.

Notice how nobody in the story or writing the story care about the facts of the event... only whether a Dem politician will be affected by it.

I spoke to my mother today, who lives in NJ, and she hadn’t heard about the story. She just got cable back. She’s one of the lucky ones who never lost power but she’s more worried about gasoline right now than politics. My brother lives in a part of the state that still doesn’t have power so I doubt he’s heard about it either. Menendez picked a good time for a scandal. We can only hope he gets kicked out after the election.

Part of Dominican tourism are upscale “resorts” where guests pay for young prostitutes in their teens or early 20s. I don’t know if that was what Menendez was doing but it’s a very poor country in a frequent hurricane zone and young women are lured into such a lifestyle because they have few choices for a good job.

I bet it wont make a difference, just like Vitter. A sad commentary on public morals.

Yes, those key components being
1) Bob Menendez isn't a Republican
2) Bob Menendez isn't conservative

The MSM will bury this one like they're trying to bury Libya.

My first reaction on watching the video of the girls was “no way this goes anywhere.” The video just has no visual impact. The guy doing the questioning is completely annoying and you can’t hear him asking them most of the questions. Plus, with the girls not speaking English and not showing their faces - there is just no way it’s going to stick.

Crisis Management Experts say Sen. Bob Menendez Prostitution Story Won't Stick...of course not - he's a Democrat - nothing sticks to them - we now have an ad with Bill Clinton, convicted perjurer, acknowledged sexual molester and hostile-workplace enabler, and accused rapist, endorsing a female candidate for Attorney General of Pennsylvania - sex with underaged girls while running ads touting his devotion to his family just makes Menendez provocative and daring.......
