Secret service apparent suicide under investigation (Obama security agent)

(WASHINGTON) -- Washington, D.C., police are investigating the apparent suicide of a U.S. Secret Service supervisory agent assigned to President Obama’s security detail.

“Rafael Prieto had a distinguished 20-year career with the Secret Service that was marked by accomplishment, dedication, and friendships,” Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said in a prepared statement. “The Secret Service is mourning the loss of a valued colleague.”

Prieto was in the midst of an administrative process related to his relationship with a foreign national, officials said.

Sources said there was no criminal investigation into Prieto and stressed that he was not connected in any way to the investigation of misconduct by Secret Service personnel in Cartagena, Columbia.

Prieto was not under investigation for espionage and there is no indication that sensitive documents were passed, according to law enforcement sources.

Prieto was found dead on Saturday. The D.C. Police declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation.

If true as presented, they were pulling his security clearance for ties to a foreign national or failure to report same. I represent a lot of those folks. Never seen one commit suicide.

I agree 100%...;)

If I was Sec Serv and I had to fork over my life to a POS anti-American idiot who reads thru a teleprompter, I would get suicidal thoughts too.

Not reporting how he did the deed, eh? Let me guess - three bullet holes to the back of the head while in handcuffs.

Yep, nothing more to see here folks.

Probably two self inflicted 22 cal to the back of the head with an emailed suicide note

(I’m thinking Castle or an NCIS episode to use this theme)

TT

In the upcoming episode Gibbs “Gut” and his Team will figure it out if allowed... if Sec Nav and the Director stay out of his way, Ducky may have problems with the double tap to the back of the head... a super rare slam fire or even more rare auto rotation and fire from a revolver (these things are possible in Hollywierd)

Ouch. That is almost enough to win yourself a private meeting with your local treasury department representative.

right in the midst of all the Benghazi mess, a secret service agent commits suicide....

What are the secret service to do when they witness traitorous activities of their boss, the prez?

Well, if recent memory serves, their PREFERRED coping mechanism is to get drunk and find themselves some hookers. :-)

No, I’ve never had one of my clients commit suicide under these circumstances. Didn’t see the facts you present in the article.

I am familiar with the circumstances of this case. I also did not ask if you had a client who has taken their own life after having an affair exposed, I asked if you had ever heard of a person doing so.

Liberals lie. The spirit and the consequences of their “free sex” is costly to the individual and to others. It’s costly to the society at large.

This is the waste of a good man’s life. I feel bad for his family and friends. RIP

I’m a shrink. Over the past 25 years I’ve probably seen several hundred new patients every year who wanted nothing more than to kill themselves.

Only five ever did that I know of, and not one of them did it over something like a scandal that I know of.

In fact, I don’t recall even a single one out of the many hundreds whose suicidal thoughts were motivated by a scandal or getting caught in an affair or something illegal or embarrassing.

Happens in movies all the time, but in real life it seems limited to “politics”.

It seems to happen lot in young men who’ve been picked up drunk, at least in my neck of the woods.

Nope, but I did know a schmuck whose wife cheated on him and he killed himself instead of the wife.

Anyone notice he died last Saturday and here it is being reported Friday, the weekend before the election, where it will be buried amidst the weekend news cycle and Sandy “coverage” and the Benghazi scandal...

oh wait...

the Sandy fluff...

the Benghazi coverup won’t see the light of day.

This agent probably knew where 0bama was throughout the Benghazi incident. Perhaps that’s why he’s gone now.
