Deadly gas tanker explosion at overpass in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Death toll up to 26.
I noticed that certain comments up earlier have apparently been removed, such as one poster angry at initial official reports of no casualties, then condeming "our leaders who steal our money and give it to terrorists." (Paraphrasal).
I first saw this on my wife's Facebook - a cousin of my wife works very near the site of the explosion - not hurt, but it shook him up.
We didn’t even know my wife’s cousin was working in Saudi. We thought he was still home in the Philippines!
Just now found this, too:
Pinoy killed, 10 more hurt in Saudi tanker blast
Some of the other articles are illuminating (titles only):
2 OFWs jailed in Saudi for owning condom
43 more OFWs from Syria to arrive Tuesday
Filipino ‘maid for rent’ racket rampant in Middle East
41 Pinoy Saudi cleaners protest employer
Abducted Filipino, 3 more aid workers recovered
Thanks for the post. It has been decades now, but I was one of the PE/PMs on the Khurais and Southern Field development. I always wondered how long a snail could balance on the edge of a razor blade.
Wow- So much damage. And from a single truck that was carrying liquified natural gas. I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often.
