Intelligence officials have disclosed a new detailed timeline of the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, acknowledging the CIA played a greater role in responding to the attack than has previously been disclosed. A senior U.S. intelligence official also insisted that the CIA security team that initially responded to the attack was not given orders to stand down in providing support, as had been suggested in media reports.

Now for the spinning BS. They is so, why did they not respond. What crap because either way the CIA just sat on their ass.
If ABC News said today was Friday I wouldn’t believe it...
They lie. The former SEALs who were already there who disobeyed orders and saved lives were the ones given the orders to stand down...not the crew sent from Tripoli. This is CYA on steroids.
Then if so ....... I am so old mistakes are just normal.
What I want to know is where in world did they pull that guy and the video idea from? How did the video even get on the radar?
Yes,ABC, everybody responded perfectly. The only downsides were that that US ambassador and three other Americans were murdered and reams of classified documents and equipment are in the hands of the enemy. Good job, Team Obama!
Did the terrorists end up with shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles OR NOT???
If they did, no airplane flight is safe
They will gladly and quickly report this....funny.
What this verifies is that a call for help went out. And only the CIA responded. The guys from the annex, and the other group sent from Tripoli.
If the CIA could ascertain the situation and send help, why couldn’t the military, with its superior assets and equipment, also respond?
Why was the “fog of war” that was too dense for Leon Panetta not too dense for a hastily assembled group of CIA guys in Tripoli who rushed to the scene when the calls for help went out?
Obama and Clinton at State "feel real bad about Stevens and those other guys" but that's "old news" let's talk about positive things like punishing that bad guy that made that despicable video and let our people keep their positive image they learned about in school.
Blame the Administration, that's so mean, so evil, so conservative.....so Republican.
Now for the spinning BS.
Yup. Re-writing history.
The CIA is an intelligence service, not a military force.
They had a few “security officers” (although most of these actually seem to have been LIBYANS, so they were obviously not much of a help) and could not possibly have been expected to fight off attackers, evacuate the people in the annex, and defend the buildings with that “force.”
If it was reported three hours before the attack that armed groups were appearing, why wasn’t the military at the ready and why weren’t these people evacuated before then and why didn’t some kind of military force appear immediately when the attack began? That’s not the CIA’s job.
Another nameless official damning the Conservatives for being “political.” Only the Libs at HP would believe this.
Spooks don’t like being thrown under the bus. This will not end well for Obama.
Well. We wanted the MSM to cover this story!
Unfortunately, it seems our choice is “no coverage” or “spinning fast and furiously.”
Yeah, this is why Mitt couldn’t even go there. Can you imagine the spin? The MSM is so in the tank for the regime Benghazi didn’t have a chance for a fair hearing.
It took the CIA these past mand days to come up with something that fits the line of march the White House gave to ABC/CBS/NBC/MSNBC/CNN/NPR.
Meanwile their nightly news shows hide contrary reports written by their own reporters.
The AC-130 and most other military birds should be fine: they are equipped with effective countermeasures against shoulder-fired antiaircraft missiles.
