is anybody asking if this is a private or city owned event? I understand this is a PRIVATE business and not owned by the government.

It is an event being run by the private NYRR on public roads.

Yes. The main reason the races they put on have risen so much in price is that the city now charges them for police services.

this guy is such a twit. They actually lifted the term limits law for this narcissist.

You get what you ask for, well they asked for it and they got it.

Exactly. Did you know martial law has been instituted in parts of New Jersey? Bodies are washing up all around NYC, dead rodents and garbage are rotting in the flooded streets, and looting is rampant. The statue of liberty has been closed indefinitely. Yet all we see are a few heartwarming posed photos of 'chairman O' hugging survivors.

And considering this is NEW YORK CITY, natural disasters like this jsut don't happen in the northeast, the coverage should be even more intense. Compare this to the media on Bush after Katrina.

On the other hand, with the heavily democrat and cheating-stronghold precincts under water and the people too busy digging out to vote, maybe the state will break for Romney.

The “Boycott the 2012 NYC Marathon” Facebook group has already announced plans to continue with the volunteer efforts originally announced alongside the protest.

Shortly after the cancelation announcement was made, the group posted the following message to their page:

To our supporters, we are still moving forward with our initiative on Sunday, November 4 in Staten Island. More details to follow.

The “Marathon of Relief” group made a similar announcement:

We are glad to hear the news that the City has decided to cancel the NYC marathon. Now we get to fully focus our efforts on a marathon of volunteers!

No kidding?

LOLOLOL

I didn’t know about this! To hear the media tell it, Bloomberg is a national hero.....finally.....for “canceling” this thing.
