Volunteer crews who came to help restore power were allegedly told to leave because they are not union workers, according to a report.

Several utility crews from Alabama who arrived in New Jersey to help restore power following Hurricane Sandy were allegedly told to leave because they are not union workers, according to a Huntsville news station.

WAFF.com reports crews with Hunstville Utilities and Joe Wheeler Electrical Membership Cooperative made their way to Seaside Heights, New Jersey this week to help get power back on for thousands of residents left in the dark. But the groups were told by crews in New Jersey that they cannot do any work because they are non-union employees, according to the report.

It's a good thing Obama and Christy teamed up yesterday to cut red tape and expedite the recovery.

Hannity has been playing a clip of union thugs yelling. Were they yelling at our Bama guys? I would like to get confirmation.

From what we understand up here (Huntsville/Madison) only the Decatur Utilities crews were turned away.

I had a good friend I knew throughout school. Several years after graduation, I went to see him for the first time. I parked my VW GTI in his driveway, and he came running out yelling with a couple of his union slug buddies that I needed to get that foreign made piece of sh_t off his property. Needless to say, we’re no longer friends.

They were repeatedly calling them Scabs, so I’m assuming they were yelling at non-Union workers. Union workers were whining about the non-Union crew taking money from the mouths of their families. They were abusive and disgusting. It’s obvious these Union slime balls could care less about all the people without power. I guess they never heard Spock say: “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.” And there’s supposed to be another storm headed their way next week.

Judging from Hannity’s tapes they seem to be more concerned about the overtime the extra workers were going to cost them than they were about getting people's power back on line.

The clip Hannity was playing was AWFUL .... the cursing, yelling “scabs”, etc. at folks who came to help .... totally disgraceful & disgusting. The union guys kept yelling that the non-union crews from out of state were taking money away from their families .... well, how about putting your fellow citizens first and making sure folks have electricity. I don’t think the folks in dire straits & needing electricity care whether it is union or non-union. BTW, I have a family member who, due to health issues, needs electricity so a power outage of any length is life-threatening ...... of course, union thugs can’t be bothered with such trivial matters for folks in the same circumstances in their city.

Invite these crews to Harding Township, Morris County, NJ. We will put them up for the night. If our power company dioes not accept them, I will stop paying my power bills because they do not belong to my club (which I will form for the occasion). We can all play this game!

“Union workers were whining about the non-Union crew taking money from the mouths of their families.”

Union workers (cops & teachers) are costing NJ homeowners their homes; they don’t seem to care, so it was nice to see thousands of them laid off over the last couple of years.

We cheer and ‘feed’ (hot chocolate, cookies while working after an ice storm, etc.) utility crews around here and after Isabelle, we had crews in from other states, away from their families & working long, hard hours. I would like to think they felt their efforts were appreciated. Electric companies can never get the electricity on fast enough for some people, but I think the crews do an incredible job - I personally wave and yell “thanks”, even when it’s the local guys getting power on after a couple of hours ... they seem to appreciate it.

Would they also turn away my disaster relief donation? I mean, they are non-union dollars from a right-to-work state so I don’t imagine they’d be welcome.

Exactly. I guess they don’t want any non-union money or supplies.
