Romney to Campaign in Pennsylvania in Last-Minute Blitz of State

Mitt Romney is making a last-minute blitz into Pennsylvania after watching President Barack Obama’s lead dwindle in the Keystone State, with the GOP nominee set to visit on Sunday, the New York Times reported.

Pennsylvania, once ignored because it was thought to fall solidly in the Obama column, now, with polls showing Obama’s lead narrowing, is being infused with super PAC money. The state, with 20 electoral votes, has gone Democratic in every presidential election for the last 20 years.

Conservative super PACs have ordered millions of dollars in airtime, according to the Times and unloaded a new round of commercials on Thursday and the Republican National Committee is pouring $2.5 million into the state.

The GOP blitz is forcing Democrats to spend more and the Obama campaign has put more than $1.5 million into an ad campaign here and is planning even more.

I recall that the last time GOP candidates targeted PA was to provide some insurance that PA residents would cross over to Ohio and vote. The reasoning was the closer the PA vote, the less incentive to draw voters across the border.

Certainly hope this all ends in a big Romney win, but I’ve been around long enough to know there is stuff going on that can turn either way. I attended a huge rally for W in PA in 2000, huge crowd, Colin Powell was there, W, I think maybe Papa Bush. It was a wildly enthusiastic scene with thousands of people. Needless to say, he lost PA.

The Rasmussen trend at the moment is not good. Some polls show a big Romney win everywhere, others show Obama holding on.

Of course Obama is doing worse than 2008, the question is will he lose. Just get out there and vote, big time.

Mitt will be in Bucks County on Sunday to win the suburban vote to offset the hood in Philadelphia. PA will go RED on Tuesday.

"PA will go RED on Tuesday."

Wouldn't that be great?

I'd love to see the human wreckage that is MSNBC writhing in their own effluvia for the 3 hours following a Romney PA call.

(A brother can dream, can't he)?

Meanwhile, -bama is “expanding his battleground”, by spending time in TX, right?

LOL

Everyone in the -bama camp now knows that his chances of pulling out a victory are that it will be a squeaker and that everything somehow falls “butter side up”.
