It is funny and ironic that “conservatives” are cheering on one of the most socialistic/populistic outcry since Katrina.
Let me get the logic: there are people who are affected by the hurricane, so stop all activity otherwise that might be “insensitive”. How about you all stop going to restaurants because there are hobos who go to sleep hungry. How about you stop going to the movies because there are unemployed people struggling to make end’s meet. How about you stop going on vacation because it might be insensitive to the poor inner city children who have to live by a crumbling neighborhood.
This insanity has infected conservatives. They have become compassionate conservatives.
Too long enough. Nothing as painful for a lib as admitting they were wrong.
Rush put a stop to that Shiite.
Probably called it off after considering what the locals would do to the runners.
Good. A Madison Ave PR firm advised him....that this was the Emperor’s Waterloo. Damn fool. I hope NYawkers don’t forget this day at election time.
“a source of controversy and division”
He means he totally misperceived the public outrage that would occur. If he weren’t so tone-deaf, he would have cancelled this without a second thought and kept all those people from other countries from wasting their money to get here.
Bloomberg got pwned! Those refugees refused to leave their hotels on the Is-land! Love it.
What a legacy he will have.
1) Supporting obama.
2) Insisting on having a bread and circus show on devastated Staten Island.
3) Banning Big Gulps.
This is a case study in how to turn a tough decision into a fiasco. Bloomberg delayed the decision until thousands of participants had flown in from all over the country, and a fair number from around the world. Not to mention a goodly number of friends, relatives, and spectators. The timing was tough, but the decision should have been made Wednesday.
