The fuel situation is another story:
1. I'm kind of surprised that the gas stations wouldn't have backup electric systems to run the pumps, at least for a day or two. I suspect some of them -- the larger chains, anyway; Lukoil, Sunoco, Getty, Shell, etc. -- may implement backup plans after this.
2. The anger needs to be directed at government. Who knew there were so many restrictions in place to prevent the easy transportation and sale of fuel? This is the "gift" of the environmental whackos. I notice that I haven't heard even one Northeast liberal complain about the "evils of Big Oil" for the last week.
Gas Stations are kinda like a franchise,if the owener dont want to install a gen its his call.
With the old pumps forty years ago it was possible to open the housing and run a v-belt from a small gasoline engine to a pulley on the pump and pump gasoline. With the new pumps that is probably not possible.
