Obama Demonizes Tea Party in Final Days of Campaign

After failing to mention the Tea Party by name on the stump in 2012, President Barack Obama mentioned the movement during at least five stump speeches on Thursday and Friday.

Running against the Tea Party movement that successfully stymied his grassroots agenda and energized conservatives and independents to give Republicans in the House a majority, Obama said Mitt Romney would "rubber-stamp the Tea Party agenda in Congress."

Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, said Obama was continuing to divide Americans by badmouthing "millions of grassroots" Tea Party activists across the nation.

"In a single speech today, our current President demonized Americans who have achieved the American Dream and badmouthed millions of grassroots Tea Party activists in every state in the nation," Martin said on Thursday. "If he spent as much time uniting Americans as he does dividing Americans and attacking them, his presidency might have been a success."

Politico reviewed a transcript of all of Obama's speeches and found Obama had only mentioned "tea party" once -- in a campaign appearance in Virginia in October -- on the stump in 2012 before this week.

I expected the media to throw everything at the Tea Party in the last week.

The silence has been deafening!

No clue how the election will turn out, but I can say that Barry’s actions AREN’T the actions of a winner.

That’s just great, barry. As if we needed one more reason to get to the polls.

Screw the polls. Look at Obama and Romney and what they say and how they say it and it's apparent who has the numbers and the mojo.

Reid says Romney won’t fight the Tea Party. Now obama bad mouths the Tea Party. Could it be desperation? God, I pray this over by 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Indiana dem senate candidate has mentioned the tea party right along but has really been hammering it in ads the last few days. Not sure it’s a good idea.

They’re desperate. Attacking the Tea Party is a base turnout message. It tells me they know they’re going to lose. They’re not speaking to the middle. Speaks volumes that they’re still trying to motivate their base this late.

rubber-stamp the Tea Party agenda in Congress

Can someone tell me who he's campaigning for again? Last I checked the Tea Party won the 2010 elections.

This! If zer0 had any kind of notion he was gonna win i would think he’d have more of a mass appeal in his words. Instead it seems he’s trying to scare up his hard core base.

Lil Barry has no defense for his dismal record and has to resort to threats and pounding the table. He was shellacked in 2010 by the Tea Party and is about to be decked by the Tea Party in 2012

There is nothing that gives me greater satisfaction than being demonized by someone like Barack Obama.

It means he sees me, or people like me, as a threat to his agenda.

Given that his agenda was largely formed by Marx, Alinsky, Cloward and Piven, Jeremiah Wright and HIS like, I cannot help but feel that I have to be on the correct side morally, intellectually and ideologically.

Brings a smile to my face, it does. And the funny thing is, I don’t belong to any formal Tea Party chapter or anything like that.

But, I AM a Tea Partyer.
