Galileo might have expected justice from Urban the 6th but it was not forthcoming. Urban relinquished his beliefs for the sake of the church. I’m not sure what indulgences sold for at that time, but I bet Urban purchased a few.

"Selling" of indulgences was always an abuse. Indulgences that involved almsgiving ended in 1567, the year before Urban was born.
But let's see... now you've brought up:
- The Church's support for Franco (who was bad, but better than the Communists)
- The so-called "persecution" of Galileo
- "Selling" of indulgences
You seem content to beat the Church with whatever stick is easiest to grab. If that's all you're going to do, I don't have time to deal with you.
