Last part is not true. In states that allow them, machine guns can be bought be an individual or a trust on a Form 4, under the National Firearms Act of 1934. It must be a transferable machine gun (no firing from an open bolt, and manufactured before 1987), and you must wait a number of months before taking possession (my buddy's last purchase took 5 months), but you can buy a full auto AK nonetheless without being a firearms dealer.

Anyway, the mention of the AK in the article was just to cause liberals to wet their panties.

Ok, could be. I had an FFL about 20 years ago and let it expire because regulations became too restrictive and burdensome. I’ll take your word for what you say as I’ve forgotten a lot and am too lazy to research :)
