The Adlon Hotel was Hitler's official residence in Berlin on and off for several years before he was elected Chancellor in 1933.
For those with musical and Independent Film interests...
Percy Adlon, the great grandson of the Adlon Hotel's founder, directed a well known independent film called “Bagdad Cafe.”
It featured a cheap, rundown California motel and truck stop.
It also featured the song “Calling You,” which was nominated for an Academy Award, around 1989, as I recall.
His son was married to Pamela Adlon from Californication and Louie, the voice of Bobby Hill on King of the Hill.
Funny to get from the Kaiser and Hitler to Louis C.K and David Duchovny and Hank Hill.
