(CNN) -- One day before the election, tensions are running high and poll numbers are being crunched every few hours. Nowhere is this truer than in Ohio -- the pathway to victory. So there was a collective gasp Friday when a last-minute directive from Ohio's secretary of state, a Republican, threatened to invalidate a number of provisional ballots.
When the fate of the nation could hinge on a handful of votes, arcane state rules and local politicians' motives take on a new urgency. Ilyse Hogue Ilyse Hogue
Earlier last week the Obama campaign complained to Wisconsin's attorney general about what it said was "willful misrepresentation" by the Romney campaign in the materials used to train Election Day poll watchers. At issue was whether people in Wisconsin with felony convictions could vote. (They can, once they complete their sentences, but the Romney documents had said they can't.) Given that this fact can be Googled in less than 10 seconds, one must conclude the Romney campaign was either grossly ignorant of election law or intentionally deceiving volunteers in an effort to swing the vote.

Bahahaha there was a contributor on CNN this morning claiming Rick Scott and all the Republicans in Florida had conspired to keep blacks voting for Obama.
They know their guy is going to lose, so already they’re starting the “Romney stole the election” meme.
Hey Dallas...And...I have been working with voting here since the primaries, the get out the vote...and early voting. No one wants to suppress the vote. This is a failure of someone on Romney’s staff. It is not Romney’s. And I am no Romney fan. Just in the interest of full disclosure.
The numbers for Buckwheat must be really bad. Looks like the cheats and liars are gearing up for claims of voter fraud against the Republicans.
Felons can vote? Interesting.
Ah, yes! CNN = 99.9999% pure horse shirt
I think it is high time we root out the communists in the liberal media and our government. Say what you will about Joe McCarthy, but he was right on.
It is only DEMOCRATS who are convinced the only way to win is to suppress opposition votes.
Morris predicted this. If it goes down like that, with the UN getting involved, it’s gonna be a long winter.
CNN suppressed the news of Obama lying about Libya. So who cares about CNN.
I think there was some confusion in terminology. Felons can only vote after they have completed their sentences. Felons on probation or parole still can’t vote.
I see that CNN has bio info now at top of article...I swear it wasn’t there when I wrote my comment 25 minutes ago because I was sure looking for it...
Of course CNN feels the duty to make sure felons are aware they can vote (and that Democrat cheaters can cast a vote on behalf of felons who fail to do so on there on accord).
Does CNN feel outraged over military vote suppression?
Joe McCarthy had personal problems, but he was performing a public service. He overplayed his hand.
I talked to a couple, here in Florida, last night and they said the same thing. Because Gov. Scott cut early voting to 8 days, they said, was aimed at cutting down on minority votes.
It’s baloney though. The time is cut for whites too. It’s not like if you’re black you get 8 days, and if you’re white you get 12 or something.
Everybody has the same 8 days to vote early.
Felons For 0bama. Now there’s a campaign slogan. BTT.
In Virginia, they can’t vote at all unless the governor reinstates their voting rights.
