Philly Activist Group Shreds GOP Voter Registrations

The Community Voters Project is a "non-partisan" lefty organization whose mission is to register people to vote, with a particular emphasis on minorities. In the 2008 election, they had offices in 10 states and registered around 300,000 minority voters. So far, so good. This year, however, it seems they aren't registering everyone who wants to vote. Outside a CVP office in Philadelphia, for example, they shredded and threw away numerous registration forms. A number of these were for people trying to register as a Republican.

A citizen-journalist came across a large bag of trash outside the CVP office in Philadelphia. Glancing at it, the citizen saw what looked like shredded registration forms. The pictures in this post are from CVP's trash. The photo above clearly shows that the voter who submitted the shredded registration form was registering as a Republican.

You're right if you think this sounds a lot like ACORN and its litany of problems with voter fraud. CVP used to work along side ACORN, and several of its employees have worked for both organizations. CVP has also had significant problems with fraud. Several of its employees were indicted in 2008 for voter registration fraud. (See here, here and here, for example.)

Groups like CVP applaud themselves for ensuring that any eligible citizen is able to register and vote. If their efforts, because of where they focus their attention, result in registering more voters who are likely to vote Democrat, there's nothing wrong with that. If a person is eligible, they should register and be encouraged to vote. But, if they come across someone who wants to register as a Republican, can they not shred the registration form? See, with groups like CVP, it isn't really about extending the voting franchise. Its about electing Democrats.

Seems to me that making voting easier is only leading to more of this crap.

The community organizers from ACORN did not stop their fraud.

They just changed their acronyms.

Does PA offer a same-day registration/provisional ballot option?

We need to stop letting anyone register voters. I would never register anywhere other than at the secretary of state office.

If they registered 300,000 Dims - it’s a good bet that they shredded 400,000 republican registrations!

We do not do same-day registrations and do not do that early voting crap. I’m not sure what a provisional ballot is.

Any form of vote cheating should be a hnaging offense. Yes, a hanging offense. It cancels the vote of a sovereign of this Republic and thus fits treason, IMHO. And I am deadly serious.

I firmly believe that Michigan’s ever tougher voting laws are what is driving Michigan to the right.

Do you see why it should completely ILLEGAL for any group to even attempt to register voters. There are many reminders to register to vote. If anyone really wants to vote then they will go do what it takes to register. This is just another scam to illicit voter fraud. And lord knows there are so many scams now.

If Romney gets elected then he should convene a group to study how to impose a Federal law on Federal elections that eliminates all these fraudulent schemes used most by the left to steal votes. Voting is a personal responsibility. If you do not take that responsibility then you should not vote at all. I know in my heart that Romney and the GOP congress will never do anything about it however.

Does this offal think they can not be TRACED?

Does this offal think those disenfranchised by their sophomoric vandalism will not take revenge eventually?

Doesn’t this offal KNOW we are smarter than they are and can track them down, individually?

Run for your basements, offal. But, remember-—you can’t hide—even behind your mother’s skirts.
