The polls are open on the east coast!!
From this morning's election day prayer thread:
"Heavenly Father may you forgive this nation and its people for the many awful sins that we have commited against you. We do not deserve the wonderful ways we have been blessed and please forgive us for our indifference,neglect and complacency towards you. May you forgive us who are members of your Church who have neglected our calling and commitment to you to be effective witnesses and stewards of the many blessings you have generously bestowed upon us. Many of us have cried out to you for the past few years as never before and we humbly beseech you to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation. First we pray that you quicken your Church by your spirit and lead us to unity to stand against the onslaught of darkness upon us. May you smash every crooked deed as evil men and women try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to our people who do not know you and to the nations of the world.
May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation with. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and enemies of the Constitution by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice. However we also pray that through this that you open their eyes to the truth and in your mercy that you bring these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to serve as a witness to many. May you also use this to bring revival across our nation and a restoration of a culture that glorifies You. We also pray for those just leaders in our government who are struggling against the lawless. We pray for your protection and that you embolden them to do what is right to triumph in the election and in the arena of ideas. May you also continue to open the hearts and minds of the American people to the the truth and draw them towards yourself to be renewed in repentance and spiritual rebirth.
And this we humbly ask in Jesus name. AMEN!"

So I went back and read your posting history;)
You are absolutely correct and I, for one, apologize for being so stubborn and/or recalcitrant.
Mitt Romney has truly earned the support and respect of the skeptical, for his stamina, sense of purpose and decency. His candidacy certainly has been more attractive to a wider electorate that some conservative favorites on FR; i.e. Cain, Perry, Bachman, Gingrich et. al. He had more private sector experience and having successfully dealt with Democrats in Mass. he has political capital.
Well, it’s almost 9:00 and FR is still moving fast and zippy. Please, please let the site hold up today. This is the best election day web site EVAH!
I wish some brave poll watchers would just go stand with them and videotape...that way they couldn’t do anything.
I always assumed that about 99% of all the people here ranting they could never vote for Romney would end up doing so - most of them probably won’t admit it, but I’m pleasantly surprised how many have.
I figured once the Obama attack machine cranked up on Romney that people just couldn’t bring themselves to give Obama the satisfaction of winning.
Regardless of what happens, it’s pretty blindingly obvious now that Romney was the best candidate that could have been put forward - if he doesn’t win, nobody would have won.
One thing Mitt did that my two favorites didn’t was get off his hind end, declare and run.
I’ll be heading out to vote in a few minutes. I’m in New York - in a storm affected area of Long Island. It’s cold and I have very little gas so I’m going to walk....
BUT I SAID I’D CRAWL OVER BROKEN GLASS TO VOTE AGAINST OBAMA AND I MEANT IT!
In that small, personal setting he convinced me he was the best man for the job....and I never waivered. I just hope and pray he gets that chance to make it all come true today!
!I believe this is first election with voter id requirement. The longer lines would be expected especially at the outset.
May the heros of Benghazi be proud of how we vote today.
They gave their lives for us, now we need to give our votes for them.
Vote as if the lives of our Military Men and Women depended on it.

Just returned from voting. It was pretty much a fiasco with the guy with the ballots arriving late, only one person checking people in, another hand-copying the information to another sheet, and only eight stations. It took awhile, but once I got to my station (as well as the rest of my family), I filled in that straight Republican bubble; flipped it over and filled in three “against” bubbles on bond issues. Said what I was doing out loud so my husband and kids knew what I was doing as they were voting in the other booths. It was a satisfying moment for us.
Already have the New Black Panther Party doing the intimidation deal here in philly...Would love to see about 5 SEALS join him. Headed into Philly now....Amen to the Prayer! Where 2 or more are gathered in His name....
I live in Virginia and arrived at the polling precint @ 5:15 and was about 15th in line. By the time I finished voting the line was 150+. It was about 75% black, which isn’t abnormal, or county is 45% black and went for obama last election. By the time my husband arrived a little after 7:00 he said the racial makeup was exact opposite, it was 75% white, most dressed for work. He said line was 250 + easy. Not sure what to make of it all, but just praying my hardest!’
