ELECTION DAY November 6, 2012 ***LIVE THREAD I***
FREE REPUBLIC!!! | 11-6-12 | Free Republic

Posted on 11/06/2012 3:18:47 AM PST by RKBA Democrat

The polls are open on the east coast!!

From this morning's election day prayer thread:

"Heavenly Father may you forgive this nation and its people for the many awful sins that we have commited against you. We do not deserve the wonderful ways we have been blessed and please forgive us for our indifference, neglect and complacency towards you. May you forgive us who are members of your Church who have neglected our calling and commitment to you to be effective witnesses and stewards of the many blessings you have generously bestowed upon us. Many of us have cried out to you for the past few years as never before and we humbly beseech you to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation. First we pray that you quicken your Church by your spirit and lead us to unity to stand against the onslaught of darkness upon us. May you smash every crooked deed as evil men and women try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to our people who do not know you and to the nations of the world.

May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation with. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and enemies of the Constitution by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice. However we also pray that through this that you open their eyes to the truth and in your mercy that you bring these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to serve as a witness to many. May you also use this to bring revival across our nation and a restoration of a culture that glorifies You. We also pray for those just leaders in our government who are struggling against the lawless. We pray for your protection and that you embolden them to do what is right to triumph in the election and in the arena of ideas. May you also continue to open the hearts and minds of the American people to the the truth and draw them towards yourself to be renewed in repentance and spiritual rebirth.

And this we humbly ask in Jesus name. AMEN!"

Just got home from voting here in Denver. There was no line (we could tell from the voter rolls that many, many people had already done early voting or mail-in ballots) and it took no time at all.

I was fairly shocked that my polling place used paper ballots. The last time I used one of those was in 2000.

We are very, very excited. I have been praying and just overall feel good about this vote, much more than ever before. Go Mitt go!

Voted around 9:30 and had to stand in line for the first time in recent memory, but it wasn’t a super long line. I was vote 129. Excellent for that time of day in our rural area. I mentioned to one of the ladies working there that I had never seen lines and that they were busy, and she said, “Yes, and that is a GOOD thing.” Only bumper stickers in the parking lot were “NObama” and RomneyRyan. That’s a good sign.

In my little evenly divided Rep & Dem hamlet in So. Cal, I had to wait for the 1st time in 8 years to vote this am @ 8am. Hopefully, we can pick up a house seat or 2 and defeat some of these lame brain propositions. I did my duty although I know Romney doesn’t win Ca and “I won’t debate” feinstein will also win. If Romney does better than McLame I guess that’s the best Ca outcome if you’re a conservative. Geez.

Ah California, why don’t you wake the hell up?

Dennis Miller just interviewed Major Garrett on his radio show. Garrett said he had just watched a Plouffe interview, and for the first time in the campaign he thinks he saw David Plouffe blink. Apparently the vote this morning was not going according to his model. FWIW

Tell me about it. I'm in a rural (& red) area of the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois.

I wish every state would allocate electors by congressional district, with the two senate electors going to the statewide winner, like Maine and Nebraska do.

Same here.... My wife has been a die hard Democrat, voting for O’bummer in 2008 and contributing to his campaign in 2008. She informed me that she voted for Mitt as long as I would keep it secret and not tell her friends!

I was sick and tired of all the Democrat and O’Bummer fundraising calls this election. Luckily I got to sort the mail and all the requests for $$ went right into the trash. I finally came up with a whole list of reason why I was disappointed with O’Bummer and supported Romney and went through it in answer to their requests for money on the phone.

The funniest one was when I informed a Southern black man who was soliciting $$ for O’Bummer that both Martin Luther King Jr and his father were registered Republicans most of their lives as the Republicans were the party that defended the blacks against the Southern Democrats and ended slavery.

“Voter Fraud reported on twitter:

@JamesOKeefeIII Talked to friend in Nashua NH this morning whose vote had been stolen by 7:30am by person using name/address/ID.”

The more these incidents are reported, the better the chance of voter ID and reform legislation happening.

Voted in IL at 6:10 AM. Big line: 50+ people for an outlying area of Peoria. If this is a big Republican turnout, my prediction (very optimistic) may come true:

Romney 55% - Obama 45%
Electoral Votes: 353-185

Just got back from voting here in Dahlonega Ga.
A lot of RR signs as close as allowed to polling place.
Did see a Obummer sticker on a car but everyone around
here seems to be for Republicans.
Keeping my spirits up, I think we can turn this around
if the forces of negativity don’t cheat too much.
Look forward to following the happenings tonight.

Was supposed to go to deer camp this afternoon but will
wait till tomorrow so I can cheer with my fellow freepers.
Thank you Johnrob for fixing the site,
thank you, thankyou!

Wife and I voted for Romney this morning in IA, no wait. A well staffed precinct that I have never had to wait before either, I was vote 187. I did find out my 75 year old disabled Mother in law voted for the first time in her life. She is dependent on the government and was pushed into voting by her gay rights daughter, she voted for Romney because my wife and I are “so good to her”. :)

He’s talking mostly out his ass. That is totally, that is totally different. Don’t get that confused.”
