The polls are open on the east coast!!
From this morning's election day prayer thread:
"Heavenly Father may you forgive this nation and its people for the many awful sins that we have commited against you. We do not deserve the wonderful ways we have been blessed and please forgive us for our indifference, neglect and complacency towards you. May you forgive us who are members of your Church who have neglected our calling and commitment to you to be effective witnesses and stewards of the many blessings you have generously bestowed upon us. Many of us have cried out to you for the past few years as never before and we humbly beseech you to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation. First we pray that you quicken your Church by your spirit and lead us to unity to stand against the onslaught of darkness upon us. May you smash every crooked deed as evil men and women try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to our people who do not know you and to the nations of the world.
May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation with. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and enemies of the Constitution by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice. However we also pray that through this that you open their eyes to the truth and in your mercy that you bring these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to serve as a witness to many. May you also use this to bring revival across our nation and a restoration of a culture that glorifies You. We also pray for those just leaders in our government who are struggling against the lawless. We pray for your protection and that you embolden them to do what is right to triumph in the election and in the arena of ideas. May you also continue to open the hearts and minds of the American people to the the truth and draw them towards yourself to be renewed in repentance and spiritual rebirth.
And this we humbly ask in Jesus name. AMEN!"
I’m in although I probably won’t be able to load it after about 10 a.m. CDT.
My entire family arose at 3am this morning in anticipation of heading to the polls to await their opening. We hope to be first in line this morning to vote
Romney/Ryan.
I will soon go to bed here in the Philippines. When I wake up, it will all be over but the shouting.
My bedtime prayer...God save America from the Communist.
Off I go to the polls... let’s get it done, America! VOTE THE TREASONOUS BASTARD OUT!
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.
My 21 year old daughter didn’t get her act together and secure an absentee ballot.
Last night she drove 2 hours, and this morning was at the polling place at 0600 (opens at 0700) in order to vote for.......Mitt.
So there is one vote in SC.
in '08, 24.8% of registered voters in Obama's OH counties voted early, 19.1% in McCain. Today, 21.7% Obama and 21.3% McCain
bmk
Scratch McCain - make it Romney. ;-)
I’m a poll watcher today! Here at 5:45am til polls close @ 7pm. A million people in line already!
Thanks!
Voter #1 in my precinct!
I live in a predominantly white neighborhood. 40% of the early voters were black.
Folks, don’t assume the black vote will be low today. Get out there and vote!
Same here, mercat, but still wanted to be in on the first election thread, especially since my election day was yesterday as I took advantage of voting at the Election Board. Also, as regards the prayer, I appreciate that it acknowledges America as being the recipient of God's grace. Just for the fact of denying American exceptionalism, another way of saying America was blessed by grace, this administration deserves the boot. It wouldn't matter if they'd made correct policy on every other front.
Heading out shortly. First to vote, then to work at the polls.
Amen to the prayers above. I’m praying and working.
FReepers, God bless you all. God Bless America!
First in line in District 2 New London CT. VERY blue neighborhood yet an astounding lack of Obama voters. Out the door by 6:07. Everything seemed to be working well.
Working the poll in Fishers IN. Machines are out Hamilton County wide. Seems to be a programming error.
Going to vote in MD.
I am voting against gay marriage, free illegal immigrant tuition, more gambling and fake districts.
I am probably in the minority but I am going to vote anyway
Its Election Day.
Remember Benghazi and that Terrorist/impostor Hasan actually worked
with Traitor/impostor Obama during the pRes_ _ential Transition
So go VOTE the Traitor and his Terrorists and Criminals OUT.
We voted early. Spoke with my Mom & Dad last night. They will be voting straight R toay. We are in Iowa...I say Iowa goes for RR.
Getting ready to head out and vote for Romney. I’m in a state that will vote at least 65% for Romney though. Praying for our nation.
Arlington, VA - FYI - Walked over to polling place, line too long (200+) I will return later. Rough estimate - 70% on those in line were holding the pink Republican sample ballot. Local radio is reporting long lines all over NoVA. Arlington County went 70+% for both Kerry and Obama.
Voted at 6am (NJ). A line already...remember Chick-Fil-A day??? It’s happening. Thank you Lord Jesus!
Getting ready for this wonderful day; washing hair; singing in the shower—We’re going to wash that man right out of our hair...
Cast my vote for RR/George Allen/Morgan Griffith and any other Republicans in Christiansburg, VA at 6:09 am. Big crowd for my little church precinct.
You misunderstand its comparing apples to apples. Districts were compared using Obama McCain Numbers so they are saying those same areas requested this cycle shows McCain's numbers would be near 5% better. (They aren't sure how these people voted this time just the party identifier of those that requested ballots.)
Here with my daughter in line at the precinct in Gloucester Point, VA... Wife will follow..
God be with us .. and the FR servers... today.
I’m having my coffee from my lucky “GONE” cup, with the “O” being the Obama logo.
Here in the heart of Missouri.
Mitt will win easily. The only area that is heavily pro-Obama is St. Louis, but the rest of the state, including Kansas City, will give us a win.
The race to watch is Todd Akin vs. Claire McCaskill.
I’ve been telling people to please forgive Todd for his ‘Rape’ remark and still vote for him. He is by far the better choice.
HE HAS A CHANCE TO WIN!!
I’ll be heading out here in Indiana in just a few minutes, to vote for ROMNEY/RYAN!
That's my early warning signal.
Wife just tweeted a pic of her line here in NoVa. She estimates 100+ in front and 100+ behind her.
Obama voters wake up around noon.
Yup once they have to drag themselves up to go pick up welfare or food stamps or the cops raid the house.
That would make 700 for Obama and 1 for Romney in is his West Side Manhattan precinct.
I voted at 6:20 AM.
I’m in also.
Waiting until people go off to work, and hoping that the lines are shorter.
Amen, amen and amen.
FUBO and your mindless worshippers, too!
Judging from the Obama Campaign rallies, O voters just don’t seem enthused. In 2008, they were swarming the polls early and there were long lines in every Blue neighborhood and state to vote for him.
Sure, some will come out to vote but the overall feeling of rapture evident in 2008 is gone this year.
Two for Romney/Ryan here in Huntington, Indiana. Never had a line at our polling place here before, did this morning. Everyone knows Indiana is coming to it’s senses after 2008, but, lines are good this time around I think.
A prayer for you and all the poll workers today who do honorable work.
If what I think will happen, happens today, it will be a historic event in which we tell the govt, ‘you are in our house, here us roar.”
Will the MSM Lose Yet Again? (Lets HOPE so!!)
November 4, 2012
by Michael Ledeen
Some years ago, back in 1984, Ronald Reagan won reelection over Walter Mondale, carrying 49 states. Afterwards, the most prestigious columnist at the most prestigious newspaperJames Reston of the New York Timespermitted himself a confession:
Among the losers in this Presidential election campaign you will have to include the nosy scribblers of the press. Not since the days of H. L. Mencken have so many reporters written so much or so well about the shortcomings of the President and influenced so few voters. Mr. Reagan beat the newspapers by ignoring them. From his nomination in Dallas to election weekend he has not held a single national news conference. He gave one or two interviews to sympathetic writers and allowed a few small-time high school and college audiences to toss him some questions, but he dismissed the White House press corps with a wave and a smile.
In other words, the MSM went all-in to defeat Reagan, and were decimated by the voters. You can almost hear Reston gnashing his teeth when you read the headline:
Reagan Beats the Press.
This little flashback set me wondering whos todays James Reston, and who, if anyone, would be man enough to make such a confession, if Romney wins on Tuesday. David Brooks? Nah, hes had dozens of chances to out himself but never gets there. Matthews? Not a chance.
Theres a better chance of True Confessions from some of the pollsters. Just remember that Reagan-Carter in 1980 was too close to call for the pollsters, including Gallup. And if either candidate wins big in this election, there will be a target-rich environment for poll skeptics.
Reviewing the bidding: the media dont have nearly the power that they, and many of us, think they have. And the pollsters, who get to talk to one out of every eleven people they (or their robots) call, are very afraid that theyre going to have to come up with some sort of scientific-sounding explanation for what happened.
Maybe they should take a poll on which explanation sounds most convincing, huh?
I see more RR bumper stickers and yard signs here on the west coast of Florida. Put two yard signs up yesterday and so did my next door neighbor (young folks with a small daughter). Heading out to vote, hubby volunteering to drive the oldsters to the voting booth. Pray.
There was a historic turnout of black voters in places like Gary and Fort Wayne in 2008 and that led O to eke out a narrow victory in Republican Indiana.
That’s not going to happen this year.
One interesting statistic that is not discussed is the four-year change in age demographics: i.e., those voters who have died in the last four years and those who have attained voting age (such as your daughter).
I have not seen any mention how this could equate to a change in voter demographics.
Anyone??
America's constitutional republic has made it the land of the free and the home of the brave and the greatest county in the world. Obama's failed administration and socialist agenda is and has proven to be HOPELESS and America desperately needs a CHANGE.
They’ll be trying to bus them from Illinois into Wisconsin instead of Indiana this year.
