Detroit Polls: Obama Campaigner Punches Voter in Face

REPORT: A woman in a Detroit polling location was aggressively campaigning for Obama. A female voter in line objected. The Obama supporter punched the woman in the face.

I was a little shocked when I went to polls this morning at a local elementary school in Sterling Heights. There were pro-Prop 2 signs at the entrance to the parking lot. I called the city clerk’s office to complain. My DH just drove by to see if they were still there and to take a photo if they were. Thankfully, they are now gone.

What about campaign signs/posters? Is there a law for how close they can be to the polling place? Is that also considered electioneering? I have to say FR is working nicely this a.m. No hang time.

I know the polls say otherwise, but I honestly think Michigan is in play. Just as many Romney stickers and signs as Obama, and maybe more. In 2008, it was obvious that Obama had more ‘visual support’ out there. Fingers crossed, voting after work.

My voting place (an elementary school) had tape across the sidewalk that said “no campaigning beyond this point” and it was just a few feet from the door. There were only a few signs and they were down by the road/entrance. I was glad to see there were quite a few people.

It is illegal to campaign within a certain distance of a polling place.

And the penalty is you have to SHOUT TWICE AS AS LOUD!

yes...minorities are grumbling about open revolt as we try to carry out our Constitution but let’s be sure to qualify our every utterance here about how BLACK VOTERS are behaving in places as we go through the grind of determining the course of our Constitutional Republic

nothing personal but that tells me people out in WhiteLandia have no clue what we are up against

just look at your demographics, to think minority race or ethnicity versus the traditional majority race/ethnic/culture is not in play here as never before is Pollyanna

and for those of us watching this unfold..we know one thing...likely a win tonight unless the Democrats can steal it though BLACK and LATINO corruption pockets

we are not changing their minds enough to matter

just imagine the howl were the Klan or some Militia or even just an NRA club hanging out armed at a polling place to keep folks in line and even beyond that to even government appoint them as poll watchers?

we were better strap up...they are not going to just become decent people and respect the things we hold dear on a dime...there are too damned many of them...over 40% and breeding like rabbits

In Detroit they get away with it. Back in 2000 when my niece and her husband lived on Detroit's east side, he waited in line for 3 hours to vote.

When he finally got inside the polling station, there was a person handing out pamphlets which were identical to the butterfly ballot and it had the pictures of all the candidates with a red "x" over the face of the person you were not to vote for.

All they had to do was lay the pamphlet on the multipage ballot then proceed to punch out the corresponding hole. Turn the page of the butterfly and then the pamphlet and continue......

Seth had no choice but to keep his mouth shut considering he was the only white person on the grounds.......

The UAW also goes out in force, picking up folks who have no transportation. Seth said that several busses had pulled up, letting out the old people.......
