I think one of the founding fathers actually said that right after the nation was founded. Someone asked him what did we get, and he said we have a Republic, if we can just keep it.

I’m sure that is going to have to be worked out in the courts. My guess, and I used to practice employment law, is that it will be handled just like alcohol. Employers can’t take any adverse action just for using, without proving an actual impairment on the job. Of course some jobs, like DOT trucking companies, railroad companies, etc., can always have random drug tests of the employees.

This election has become amazingly tied in too many states to call a coincidence. I think the plan is that sometime in the middle of the night, California busts these ties open to the Rats. And that will be that unless Mitt has the moxie to declare fraud in something like a dozen tied states and pursues it till Congress itself is forced to act. Which will give us a President Mitt and a Vice President Slow-Joe.
I was just pondering. Might need some as tax increases, etc will mean I can’t afford my life. Sigh.

Remember, the original question was if conservatism is dead. Yes, tough times are ahead. But there will be a lot of “I told you so” coming from conservatives. And more people will listen, hopefully many more. That’s how you get folks to convert to conservatism.

Well, Democrat vote packing is nothing new. It happened in the sixties and affected an election and it was “classed over” by the GOP of the time. But it did not make the problem subside.

I’m with you. Yes, we’re in shock, we need to acknowledge it and work through it. AND then we need to get steely and hard edged and determined, Face what we know we have to deal with, stick together as conservatives, keep our heads about us, and think and listen...what is the next step.....

I truly believe that Romney was the strongest candidate to run against Obama, because he stood up to Obama's vicious smear campaign with great strength and dignity and never stopped fighting even as the onslaught of lies and distortions from the despicable Obama campaign continued for several months. I honestly have no doubt that Santorum and Gingrich would have lost by much more than Romney, if in fact Romney ends up losing tonight. Santorum would have been smeared as a "hateful homophone", while Gingrich would have been smeared as a man who doesn't respect women, etc. Mitt Romney ran straight into Obama's vicious buzz-saw of smear and lies, and Obama's stupid coalition of the poorly educated, dumbed down, and mediocre middle class fell for Obama's con-man routine AGAIN...("fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.") This election is a shameful case of Obama's coalition of dumbed-down liberals and mediocrity getting fooled AGAIN by Obama's phony BS. The people who voted for him will regret it severely in about six months as our economy begins to slide into another serious recession as taxes increase to pay for Obamacare and more handouts, while hiring by the private sector stops completely. All it will take is a few failed Treasury auctions followed by a collapse of our stock market to send us back into a severe recession. I'm in my mid-50s, and honestly I don't even recognize America any more. It's not the country I grew up in. It's been taken over by this vicious coalition of mediocre democrats and the lying cheating MSM mafia that covers up every crime by democrat politicians--even posting a forged birth certificate on the White House website.
America may now be like an alcoholic who has to hit rock bottom to finally realize that alcoholism is a real problem for him. We as a nation may have to hit rock bottom to finally realize that liberalism and the MSM mafia is a real serious problem for America. That may happen as we slide into another deep recession early next year.
Mitt, you got cheated out. You didn’t get lied out, you didn’t get out-popularized. A small core of intense activists warped the polling process, Mitt. Democrats knew this was coming which is why they skewed their polls. Republicans were blind sided, and they oughtn’t have been. It’s as old as the JFK “victory.”

I think there was some electronic voting machine fraud. How much, I don’t know. But the machine errors in favor of Romney were well-publicized and those in favor of BO hardly so. Putting on my tinfoil hat, I’d say if I were to create electronic vote fraud, I’d program the machines to count every third vote for BO, and out of ten machines have nine programmed this way, and the tenth to default to Romney. Publicize the Romney one and get away with vote fraud with the remainder. Don’t watch what the other hand is doing.
