Santa Rosa isn’t exactly Pensacola. It’s Milton, Pace, Navarre, etc. It’s the county just east of Pensacola (which is in Escambia County). It doesn’t have nearly the population of Pensacola. Sadly, there won’t be enough votes there, either.

Pensacola is in Escambia County. Santa Rosa County is the next county east of Escambia.

It doesn’t matter.

Republicans got their asses whipped this evening, and America was beaten to death.

Not going to be enough. Even if Romney duplicates McCain’s success there, he’s still going to come up short. Amazing.

Isn’t St. Lucie notoriously Democrat leaning?

Our house in the panhandle is almost finished. I can’t wait to get there.

Who are you people? Rove just explained. We are taking Florida and very possibly Ohio. We’ve got Virginia and NC. All we need after that is Colorado or Iowa. Ohio and Florida are too close. I hate it. But they are ours. Both are now within the margin for a required recount.

St. Lucie County is the Fort Pierce area north of Palm Beach and southeast of Orlando on the east coast.

True, but St. Lucie trends D, and Santa Rosa only has 116k registered voters. Even if you assume 70% turnout in Santa Rosa, and 70% voting for Romney - pretty reasonable assumptions for the Panhandle - that’s a net of 35k votes for Romney, give or take.

Also, Miami-Dade county is only 63% counted, it’s strongly D, and has 1.3 million registered voters. I hate to be a negative Nancy - I really spent most of today hoping and believing Romney would win - but I think Florida is lost.

The Panhandle and NE Florida (Jacksonville) just don’t have the numbers to make up for liberal SE Florida. Republicans have to win the I-5 corridor (Tampa-Orlando), or at least Hillsborough County. Romney didn’t pull that off.

I really wish N Florida could secede...
